Even amidst today’s short-term business priorities and global uncertainties, we must prioritize sustainability by embedding it into our core business strategies. Why? Because silence—or green hushing—isn’t an option. Sustainability must remain a key topic in every business meeting. Our own Jan Van Rompay recently participated in an Ecochain webinar, demonstrating how we use EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) to advance sustainability and maintain a competitive edge. 🌊 Time for Impact!🌍 On March 19th, a group of Orbia Wavin volunteers took to the canals of Amsterdam with Plastic Whale for a special #Time4Water initiative. Armed with fishing nets, the team participated in collecting waste from the Amsterdam canals. These actions don’t just make the canals look better; they also prevent plastic waste from entering our oceans. Here’s what we fished out of the water: ✅ 4 bags filled with PET bottles ✅ 2 bags of cans ✅ 10 bags of general waste ✅ 11 bags of other plastics ✅ 60 pieces of glass That’s a serious catch! 🎣 Every bottle, can, and piece of plastic removed makes a difference and will be recycled by the Plastic Whale organization and turned into e.g. furniture! On March 22nd we celebrate World Water Day. It’s a United Nations initiative that aims to raise awareness about the importance of freshwater and advocate for the sustainable management of water resources. Each year, the day focuses on a specific aspect of water, highlighting critical water-related issues and encouraging action to address global water challenges. It was great to host such an inspiring group of professionals passionate about discovering innovative water solutions. During their trade mission to the Netherlands, the delegation visit leading companies and knowledge institutes in the WaterTech sector, including Wavin (an Orbia business). Today, the Orbia group has announced a long-term partnership with The Supreme Industries Ltd, India’s largest plastic pipe manufacturer. Supreme will acquire Orbia’s Building & Infrastructure business Wavin’s pipes and fittings business in India and will have exclusive access to Orbia’s leading water management technologies. This strategic initiative will expand Supreme’s leadership position, extend Orbia’s customer reach through technology and accelerate the robust growth of India’s building and infrastructure industry.
