🌍💧 CALL FOR PARTICIPATION – First UNESCO Water Youth Dialogue 💧🌍 Are you part of a youth-led water organization working to make a difference in water issues Be part of a historic moment at the first-ever UNESCO Water Youth Dialogue, happening in person at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on 12–13 June 2025. 🌊 This global event will bring together youth organizations and water professionals to share experiences, build networks, and shape youth-led water action worldwide. 🗓️ Deadline to apply: 15 April 2025 📍 Location: UNESCO HQ, Paris 🎟️ Format: In-person participation (application required) ✨ Why join? ✔️ Represent your organization in meaningful dialogue with fellow youth water actors ✔️ Co-create concrete actions and recommendations ✔️ Strengthen youth visibility in the international water community ✔️ Build long-lasting partnerships for collective impact 💸 This call is exclusively for youth-led water organizations. Glaciers are melting faster than ever. As the planet gets hotter, our frozen world is shrinking, making the water cycle more unpredictable. For billions of people, meltwater flows are changing, causing floods, droughts, landslides and sea level rise. Countless communities and ecosystems are at risk of devastation. As we work together to mitigate and adapt to climate change, glacier preservation is a top priority. We must reduce greenhouse gas emissions to slow down glacial retreat. And, we must manage meltwater more sustainably. Saving our glaciers is a survival strategy for people and the planet. Water Youth Network | United Nations Water #WorldWaterDay

Today, on #WorldWaterDay, we unite around a powerful truth: Saving Our #Glaciers is not just an environmental goal — it is a #SurvivalStrategy 🌡. Glaciers are the world’s #Freshwater banks, feeding rivers, sustaining agriculture, and securing #WaterSecurity for billions of people 🏔. Their rapid melting is not a distant problem — it’s happening now 🌍. It’s disrupting #WaterCycles, threatening #Livelihoods, and increasing #ClimateVulnerability, especially for #MountainCommunities and downstream regions 💧. As #Youth, we recognize the urgency of protecting these frozen lifelines 🧊. Glaciers may seem far away, but their loss is deeply personal 🫱. Whether it’s reduced #WaterFlow in our farms, shrinking access in our cities, or the growing threat of floods and droughts, the ripple effects are global 🌊. We need stronger #WaterGovernance, climate adaptation, and cross-border cooperation — and we must ensure that #YoungPeople are included in decisions shaping our future 🤝🌱. On this #WorldWaterDay2024, the #WaterYouthNetwork calls on governments, scientists, Indigenous communities, and youth everywhere to join forces in protecting our #Glaciers and securing #WaterForAll 💙.
