Apel, Tom Hommola, Daphne Vryghem and Keanan Walker travelled all the way to Rotterdam to participate in the prestigious case competition organized by Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University RSM STAR. In this competition, 16 teams from universities from all over the world competed in a 12-hour case challenge provided by AuCom and a 24-hour case challenge provided by Huthamaki. After a disappointing 3rd place in their division in the 12hr case, the team was eager to outperform themselves in the 24hr case. And they did! No challenger round was needed to reach the finals. After some nerve-wracking hours, the results were announced, resulting in an ecstatic Maastricht University team becoming 1st in the 24-hour case and securing 2nd in the overall competition. Although the success is mainly thanks to the drive of four students on stage, they could not have done this without the training they received from Elisa Verwey, Fleur Janssen, Nick Sutton and from their advisor Carla Koopman. The Business Engineering programme team is also very thankful that knowledge and skills from the programme appeared in the analyses and solutions of all case competitions. We close another successful business engineering case competition season, in which we also recall not only Daniel Apel, Tom Hommola, Daphne Vryghem, and Keanan Walker's 2nd place in Rotterdam but also the 1st place in our team of students Larissa Lintner, Wiktor Łażewski, Candela Ruiz-Peinado Peláez, and Gustaaf Hogt (Economics and Business Economics student).
