𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗩𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀, 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀: 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗪𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱! February this year, The Offshore Partners carried out two Light Ship Weight Surveys on some of the biggest vessels in the industry! ⚓ 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗳 (Heerema Marine Contractors) – One of the world’s largest crane vessels, where we conducted this survey for the third time. ⚓ 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗻 (Fred. Olsen Windcarrier)– A powerful jack-up vessel, where it was our second time performing this crucial measurement. During a period of three weeks our colleagues have determined the new light ship weight of the vessels. All modifications on board, which have been made in the past few years were documented. And all weights, which were not included in the light ship weight, needed to be documented as well. After determining all the weights of every single item on board, the exact draft had to be measured at the draft marks. This is where the expertise of The Offshore Partners excels. 💡 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹: With equipment, specially designed for these readings, the exact draft of the vessel can be measured in millimeters. After finalizing the calculations, we once again received positive feedback from our clients: '𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥' The Offshore Partners is extremely specialized in organizing and executing a light ship weight survey, or inclining test, on all vessels. Yet another great phase in my career has come to pass. A great thanks once again to Theo Vollaard at The Offshore Partners BV for promoting my expertise and experience and landing me a dream job as Site Manager for the three consecutive conversions of offshore supply vessels to geotechnical drilling vessels for Fugro. Honorable gratitude goes to Peter Toxopeüs, Fleet development manager at Fugro who supported and guided me through the intricacies of all of the Fugro entities and stakeholders as well as the multitude of directors, managers, staff and crew for constantly supporting us and believing in us on site. It was also a pleasure working along ex colleagues and friends from the classification societies, namely Ajay Bhardwaj at American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Tomasz Kaminski and Edwin Sobotka at DNV. Last but not least my shipyard onsite counterparts who believed in achieving the same goals and always supported us along the way, we built everlasting partnerships; Roy Moldskred from ULSTEIN for the Fugro Resilience, Roberto Peñate Rodriguez from Astican Astilleros Canarios S.A. for the Fugro Resolve and Bartosz Muszyński from Remontowa Shiprepair Yard S.A. for the Fugro Zephyr. I’m now back on the market and reeling for another challenging project or two, thank you all once again, I know our paths will cross again.
