Recently I had the fantastic opportunity to join one of our Jumpers On Demand termination teams onsite overseas.   Not just a flag waving visit, but being part of the team for a rotation was at a personal level invigorating, and while “a change is as good as a rest” as the saying goes it was also quite enlightening, humbling and I hope transformational for our next campaign. Being ultimately accountable for estimating, planning and managing these projects, my time on the ground sharing the days work with the teams has opened my eyes to further improvements and changes to an already robust methodology of work and processes. Collating ideas and feedback from the teams onsite in real time has been really insightful. From small incremental changes in handling equipment to changes in procedures where we can be far more efficient in the safe and efficient execution of our work I’m excited about our next campaigns and what the future holds for our Field Services Group   I’d wholeheartedly recommend to any manager or leader to get back onsite from time to time, be it a factory floor, a fabrication yard, back-deck of a vessel or anywhere your leadership puts team members and be inspired by your team to constantly improve from the ground up.

*Team Spotlight*   Matthew Slater - Team Lead Mechanical Engineering   Matt has been with Strohm for more than a decade, progressing through production line engineering roles. In his current position he leads a team of six people, guiding them through the mechanical design and development of machines used in Strohm’s factory.   One of the most rewarding aspects of his job is the opportunity to be the kind of manager he once wished for: "It’s not just about giving orders; it’s about being there when someone on my team needs help with a problem, conflict, or even just improving their work environment. Yesterday, Strohm took on the Zandvoort Circuit Run with a strong team across different disciplines! 🏃♂️🚴♀️ Our colleagues challenged themselves in the 4K and 12K runs, while our cycling team completed the 80 km Omloop van Zandvoort—all against the backdrop of a sunny but windy race day. On March 11, we participated in the IJmond Zuid-Kennemerland On Stage career event, where VMBO students connected with professionals to explore future career opportunities. As a follow-up, we welcomed five students to our office yesterday for the “Doe Dag.” The day started with an introduction to Strohm—who we are, what we do, and why it’s a great place to work. This led to insightful discussions about their future ambitions. After a safety briefing and gearing up, they joined Richard de Vroede for an interactive session on workplace safety and the activities in our Pipe Completion department.   We are pleased to announce the appointment of Gerrit Stoelinga as Strohm's new Chief Financial Officer as the company gears up for further growth following a strong increase in revenue in recent years.   Gerrit, who has been a member of Strohm’s supervisory board since 2023, has stepped down from his board role to join the management team as CFO, a role in which he will oversee the company's financial strategy, investor relations, financing, legal and compliance activities. He has three decades of experience in banking and financial advisory, including holding various senior management positions at ING. In recent years, he has leveraged his background in the oil and gas industry and the energy transition sector to focus on advisory work, helping scale-ups to attract growth financing. CEO Martin Van Onna commented: “We are now building upon Strohm’s strong foundations and our longstanding reputation for quality, as we gear up for the next phase of growth after achieving positive EBITDA last year. Gerrit’s extensive experience in the space of investor relations and financing, and his familiarity with our company through his time on our supervisory board will allow him to hit the ground running and drive the next stage of Strohm’s business expansion." *Team Spotlight*   Jeffrey van der Post - Junior Prospect Engineer   Jeffrey joined Strohm in February 2024 as an intern while completing his studies, but his dedication and passion quickly earned him a promotion to Junior Prospect Engineer after graduation.   As someone who joined the company with no prior experience in the energy sector, he credits the company’s supportive environment for his smooth transition. "Strohm fosters a culture where questions are welcomed and support is always available,” he says. "From day one, everyone has been incredibly patient and encouraging. Whether it’s a colleague explaining complex processes or my manager helping me take on new challenges, I always feel empowered to grow. Last week CEO Martin Van Onna joined a panel discussing the use of composites for hydrogen transportation and distribution during JEC Group's World Composites show in Paris. The session focused on advancements in composite materials designed specifically for compressed #hydrogen storage and pipelines. The panel of experts discussed the projected surge in carbon fiber usage and explored new methods for developing and manufacturing storage vessels and pipelines with a focus on #sustainability throughout their lifecycle.
