Somebody is cutting onions in this room. Thank you Thomas Lahnthaler for sharing the depth of the impact NDB had on your journey and the reflections prompted. We have great memories with you that time won't ever delete. Thank you!
An ending is just an inverted beginning. I had never been part of a community, at least not consciously. And I more or less stumbled into this one, not having any idea what an impact its members will have on my journey as a facilitator. When I mentioned to Myriam Hadnes in a conversation following our first podcast episode (and my first ever) just over 6 years ago that I am missing a space where facilitators dare to experiment and push boundaries, I had no idea she would create just that space. And what a space it was. It evolved into so much more than the fantastic annual 24 (48) hours of global facilitation festival NeverDoneBefore; it was a mindset, culture, and playing ground for experienced and emerging facilitators to share, dare, fail, and learn. Community, however, is almost a simplistic description of everything it contains. Amazing and inspiring people, human dynamics with all their ups and downs, a sense of belonging regardless, a network around the world, a wealth of insights, and a space to grow into yourself. It was a community driven by dedicated members and the desire to explore. While it is time to move on from NeverDoneBefore, this by no means marks an end because a few days ago, I saw some of the faces that, despite the distance, have become so familiar over the past years one last time. This was more than sharing a space — deep, honest, appreciative connections. So, while this marks an ending, it's just an inverted beginning. I am grateful to everyone with whom I had the joy and privilege of sharing the space in this community. Thanks for letting me and helping me find my signature. I look forward to seeing you all down the road. Thank you. #facilitation PS: I won't even attempt to tag everyone, but I hope you know who you are.
