APLF 2025 has wrapped for another year and we asked Leather Crafter and Filmmaker, Yusuf Osman to summarise some of the key themes from the show. Sustainability, environmental impact and regulation were key themes this year, giving us the opportunity to share the data behind the headlines. Last year we launched our first ever global Leather Repair Directory. A free resource available for anyone across the world who wants to honour and not trash their leather treasures - whether that’s a vintage jacket, premium car interior or an iconic chair. In our new series of ‘Meet The Member’ we catch up with Nicholas Muirhead, CEO of Scottish Leather Group. We explore the history of Scottish Leather Group, his career in leather making, and the values of sustainability, transparency and high quality that drive the business forward. “It’s about doing the right thing” says Nicholas. “We know that our approach to sustainability is pioneering but it’s not yet seen as a necessity.
