We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of chef Jonnie Boer. For many years, Jonnie lent his name and culinary brilliance to our World Business Class meals. His signature dishes have delighted guests on KLM flights from Amsterdam, and our menus proudly carry his name—a tribute to a true master of his craft. His passion for flavour, finesse, and quality was unmatched. It was a privilege to work closely with him over the years. Yesterday, we welcomed 30 enthusiastic girls from primary school “De Regenboog” in Alkmaar to KLM Engineering & Maintenance for Girls’ Day 2025. It's part of a nationwide initiative promoting technical careers for women from an early age, organised by VHTO. You can't be what you can't see! 🌟 During their visit, the girls enjoyed an engaging tour of our hangar and engine workshop. They also participated in a creative workshop where they built their own miniature 3D-printed engine. Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of hosting an exclusive joint event for KLM and alumni of TU Delft. The evening offered a unique opportunity to explore how KLM is pioneering the future of aviation through artificial intelligence. 🤖 Following an official welcome from KLM’s Chief Information Officer, Aart Slagt, attendees enjoyed presentations by TU Delft alumni currently working at KLM, who showcased their innovative AI projects.💡 Additionally, there was a presentation by TU Delft PhD students. 🎓 The evening concluded with a valuable networking session and a special highlight tour of KLM’s operations, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the cutting-edge advancements driving the aviation industry forward.
