We’re excited to announce a new route connecting the Region of Murcia with Marseille, and to renew our existing exclusive connection to Barcelona! These two routes are in addition to the ones we already operate to Asturias and Bilbao—bringing our total offering from Murcia to four destinations and strengthening our commitment to expanding travel options across Southern Europe. 🌍 Starting July 7th 2025, we’ll be offering around 5,000 seats on 32 flights between Murcia and Marseille, with two weekly frequencies on Mondays and Thursdays. For the Murcia–Barcelona route, we’re adding 37,700 seats and 216 flights through to March 2026, operating every Monday and Friday. 🗓️✈️ Thank you to the Murcia International Airport for hosting us—and to the nearly 200,000 passengers who have flown with us from Murcia since 2019. We’re excited to announce that we’ve signed a Memorandum of Understanding with TotalEnergies for the supply of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for our flights departing from French airports. This agreement, running from 2025 to 2029, is an important step in our commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of our operations, with plans to purchase up to 7.5 million liters of SAF during this period. 🌍✈️ SAF plays a key role in reducing CO₂ emissions and supporting the aviation industry's transition to more sustainable practices. We began integrating SAF into our fleet in 2022 and have already utilized over 1.5 million liters of sustainable aviation fuel since then. Across Europe, we’re collaborating with multiple suppliers in Spain and Italy to promote SAF development using circular raw materials, and we’re now proud to be doing the same in France. This partnership with TotalEnergies will help us continue to incorporate sustainable fuels into our operations and contribute to the broader industry's decarbonization efforts. 🚀 Thank you to TotalEnergies for their trust in us as partners. We’ve launched a Request for Proposals (RFP) for 2 to 6 A320 CFM-powered aircraft, with deliveries expected in Q1 2026 (Q4 2025 also considered). We’re thrilled to launch a new exclusive route connecting Jerez Airport with Asturias Airport! 🎉✈️ In 2025, we will offer over 18,400 seats across 118 flights on this connection, with two weekly frequencies on Tuesdays and Fridays. During the summer months, flights will move to Mondays and Thursdays to better align with seasonal demand. To mark the occasion, the first Asturians arriving in Jerez were treated to a special Andalusian-inspired welcome—traditional torrijas and sweet wine served in authentic style! 🍷 A warm, local touch that highlights the spirit of this new route. This is our very first connection from Jerez, expanding our footprint in Andalusia alongside our existing operations in Seville, Granada, and Malaga. This week, we attended Routes Europe 2025 in Seville—an event that brings together key decision-makers in route development from across Europe and beyond. We had the opportunity to meet with partners, explore new opportunities, and share ideas on how to continue strengthening air connectivity across Europe and addressing industry challenges.   We were also honored to participate in two key discussions shaping the future of aviation:   ✈️ Carlos Muñoz, our Founder and CEO, joined David Casey, Editor in Chief at Routes, for a CEO Keynote Interview where he shared insights into Volotea’s unique approach to route development, our expansion strategy, and how we continue to focus on underserved markets. He reflected on how our business model has evolved to stay competitive, overcome challenges, and lay the groundwork for future growth, and as part of the discussion, made a special announcement of a new route we’re launching from Seville to Bordeaux. Carlos especially noted, “When identifying new routes, we rely heavily on data and in-depth analysis from our strategy team. We also benefit greatly from the support of airports—strong partners who provide local knowledge that helps guide our decisions. Thanks to the expertise we’ve built over the years and our agility, very few of the routes we launch fail to perform.”   🗺️ Our Chief Strategy Officer, Gabriel Schmilovich Isgut, joined a panel on “What’s Next for Route Development?” alongside other airline leaders. He spoke about the 35 new routes we’re launching this year, the growing role of AI in network planning, and the importance of collaboration with airports and regional institutions in shaping sustainable air connectivity. Whether attending the event in Seville or supporting from behind the scenes, our Strategy team continues to play a key role in shaping our network. This month marks two years since we launched our base in Florence at Amerigo Vespucci Airport! Since 2023, we've grown into a key player in regional connectivity, operating 13 routes (12 of them exclusive) and employing around 30 team members locally. ✈️🇮🇹 We’ve also expanded our role in the community, becoming a mobility partner for #EnjoyRespectFirenze to help promote responsible tourism and sustainable travel. “Over these two years, Florence has welcomed us enthusiastically and made us part of the city’s fabric,” said Valeria Rebasti, our International Market Director. “We’ve built a strong foundation, expanded our flight offer, and launched initiatives that highlight the value of this city.” 🏛️🤝 Florence now ranks among our top three Italian bases for both customer satisfaction and punctuality, with an NPS of 46.0 in 2024 (rising to 58.3 among Megavolotea members), and in Q1 2025, an OTP15 of 93.5% and a flight completion rate of 97%. Last week, we attended the Airlines for Europe (A4E) Aviation Summit in Brussels, where our Founder/CEO, Carlos Muñoz, joined the CEOs and senior representatives of the 17 A4E member airlines. The summit also included a chance to exchange views with Mr. Apostolos Tzitzikostas, recently appointed Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism.   The agenda focused on the strategic role of aviation in Europe’s economy, the importance of safeguarding connectivity across all regions, and the regulatory and operational challenges ahead. Competitiveness on a global level was a central theme, with calls to ensure Europe’s airlines can thrive in an increasingly tough international environment.
