Over ons

Over 20 years, Galerie Ron Mandos has earned its place of prominence within the Dutch art scene. First opening its doors in Rotterdam in 1999, it has since accrued a roster of over 30 artists from around the globe, becoming an integral nexus-point for artists at all stages of their career. In 2010, the gallery moved to its current location in the Amsterdam gallery district. In its pursuit of new developments within contemporary art and facilitated by its spacious venue, the gallery presents an extensive program within which new and dynamic means of representation are sought.
The voices of an impressive assembly of established talent such as Daniel Arsham, Hans Op de Beeck, Isaac Julien, Remy Jungerman and Erwin Olaf tell poignant stories and shape the core of our public debate. The gallery’s mission is to platform artworks that embody the sophisticated relationship between artist, artwork, and society. Throughout the gallery’s program, light is shed on the unexpected and previously hidden aspects of everyday experience, taking shape in large scale, immersive installations as well as international group exhibitions. Ron Mandos maintains a keen eye on art academies in search of young talent, offering a platform for their work in the annual Best of Graduates exhibition. In 2018, Ron Mandos established the Young Blood Foundation, a program that will foster the careers of graduates for years to come. Alongside these initiatives, the gallery has placed artworks in a variety of significant collections, including The Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Museum Voorlinden, Wassenaar, and Centre Pompidou, Paris.

  • Opening Soon (Sunday, 23/03): 'Gravity' by Koen van den Broek 🛣️ The exhibition showcases new paintings and sculptures, reflecting a transformation in his approach to materials and image-making. Van den Broek's work has long explored road culture and movement, depiciting highways and urban landscapes. Now, for the first time in his career, van den Broek introduces bronze sculptures that have the same characteristic connection to exploration and movement. With Gravity, van den Broek redefines his relationship with the road, painting, and sculpture, integrating industrial materials and new techniques while continuing his engagement with urban spaces, movement, and his ever-curious perspective. — Koen van den Broek: 'Gravity', 23 March - 11 May 2025 Galerie Ron Mandos, Prinsengracht 282, Amsterdam — Artworks Featured: Koen van den Broek 1. Bumpy Blue, 2025, Oil and traffic paint on linen, 75 x 50 cm 2. • 🪑We are happy to soon open ‘Crescendo!’ featuring variety of Maarten Baas’ works, including ‘Empty Chair’ and ‘Second Nature | Waterfall,’ both of which have been shown at Museum Voorlinden in the last year. Empty Chair’ was created for Amnesty International in 2010. It honors Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo, who was imprisoned at the time and could not attend the award ceremony. The empty chair represents both the restrictions of the physical world and the freedom of thought and spirit. ‘Second Nature | Waterfall’ is made from videos of waterfalls that Baas collected through social media. These videos were pieced together to form a virtual waterfall, reflecting on how we experience nature in a world increasingly shaped by technology. We invite you to explore these powerful works (and much more) at ‘Crescendo!’ — Maarten Baas: ‘Crescendo!’ Opening: Saturday, January 18, 2025, 3:00–6:00 PM Galerie Ron Mandos, Prinsengracht 282, Amsterdam
