🚀 Meet SATA Medical, the newest TU Delft spin-off! SATA Medical develops cost-efficient and sustainable surgical instruments for minimally invasive surgery. Minimally invasive surgery is often associated with high costs and excessive waste due to disposable instruments. SATA Medical is changing this narrative with high-performance, articulating, and reusable surgical instruments designed for laparoscopic and robotic procedures. Their innovative tools combine advanced tip articulation with the ability to disassemble, sterilize, and reuse the instruments – over and over again! This unique approach not only addresses sustainability in the OR but also lowers the cost barrier, making advanced surgical care more accessible worldwide. Delft Enterprises and SATA Medical are excited about the future of sustainable surgery and about bringing the SATA innovation, developed by Tim Horeman-Franse and the MISIT lab team from TU Delft | Mechanical Engineering, to the surgical floor. We wish the founding team, led by CEO Asthor Tryggvi Steinthorsson and CTO Storm Chabot the best of luck on their mission to shape the future of sustainable surgery. At Delft Enterprises, we’re proud to support SATA Medical on their journey to transform surgical practices worldwide. ➡️ Learn more about their mission and impact: satamedical.com

🚀 TU Delft spin-off TeleFlux secures €50.000,- from the TechScout Venture Fund CLA! Monitoring steel structures in hard-to-reach locations can be a real challenge, think of offshore wind turbine foundations. Attaching sensors that require direct contact with these structures is often impractical. That is where TeleFlux comes in with their contactless sensor technology, enabling stress measurements during monopile installation. This allows for lifetime extension, new insights and optimized designs. We’re excited to see what the future holds for founders Francesca Greco, Reinder Jorritsma, and Robert Hasselaar! #delftenterprises #TUDelft #teleflux #offshore

🚀 Next-generation communication security just took a giant step forward! Q*BIRD, a pioneer in quantum networking, has unveiled its Falqon MQS4000 Quantum Switch - an innovation that enables true multipoint-to-multipoint Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). 🔑 With this breakthrough, organisations like governments, large corporations, and sensitive sectors (think healthcare and smart industry) can scale quantum-secure communications to hundreds—or even thousands—of users without overhauling their infrastructure. Why does this matter? ✅ 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺: No exponential hardware increases required. ✅ 𝘜𝘯𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺: Immune to all known (and even future) detector side-channel attacks. ✅ 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺: Successfully deployed and tested in the Dutch national network operated by SURF. 💬 CEO Ingrid Romijn calls this a “crucial component that will allow for truly scalable quantum networks.” This achievement builds on Q*Bird’s impressive growth journey. Since raising €2.5M in May 2024, the company has expanded from an R&D-focused team of three to a 21-person commercial operation, now offering a full suite of quantum security solutions.
