It is with great pleasure to announce that Nick Hoogeweij has been appointed as General Manager of Cruise Port Rotterdam per January 1st 2025. Together with Arjan Van Der Linde, Terminal Manager & Manager Shore Power and undersigned he will be responsible for the business Operations of Cruise Port Rotterdam. Nick Hoogeweij with a hospitality and marketing background has proven to have become a knowledgeable cruise industry ambassador with service as paramount importance. Amongst others Nick is member of the Cruise Europe Council as chair of the Marketing committee and member of the Hospitality Platform Rotterdam. We are very happy to have Nick on board. We are connected, now with Shorepower too! A memorable day in #Rotterdam! AIDAnova (AIDA Cruises) became the first cruise vessel to connect to shore power. Officially marked - including the inauguration of the new design connection vehicle - by Vice-Mayor Robert Simons and CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Boudewijn Siemons. This officially opened for shore power supply at the Holland America Quay in Rotterdam. The shore power installation allows cruise vessels to turn off their generators to be connected to shore power, generated by wind and solar.
