We were happy to see our Venture Partner, Floortje Rasenberg, on stage at the #EICSummit25 panel discussion, articulating our vision on inclusive investing. 💸🎤 "Grateful for the opportunity to join such a powerful conversation about the current state and future of #VentureCapital and, by extension, European innovation — and more importantly, about who gets to shape it," says Floortje in her recap from the event. 🚀 The gender gap is real in the VC funding world. Only 5️⃣% of all VC investment goes to diverse teams made up of both males and females and only 1️⃣% is invested in all-female teams. "We need bold and different actions if we want to close the gender gap at a faster pace and unlock Europe’s full potential — especially now," Floortje continues. The panel discussed some ways forward: 🪙 Pension funds could help. Only 0.01% of pension fund assets flow into VC funding. Great to connect with fellow investors and industry leaders at the Zero One Hundred Conferences in Amsterdam last week! 🇳🇱 Our Founding and Managing partner, Simone Brummelhuis, joined a carefully curated network of private equity and venture capital fund investors, fund managers and service providers from across Europe and North America. It was a fantastic opportunity to make valuable connections and engage in insightful discussions on the current landscape of private equity and venture capital. 📈 More than 80% of attendees were fund investors or fund managers, making the event a prime setting for meaningful networking and exploring potential collaborations. Key takeaways from the many panel discussions: 🔸 For deep-tech and hardware ventures to become global winners, both the fund and portfolio companies need more than €100 million. 📣 A really important example of how small and medium-sized enterprises can affect European regulations on medicinal products. 💊 In January, the European Commission launched the Critical Medicines Act to bolster the security of supply and availability of critical medicinal products. Over four weeks, the call for evidence gathered stakeholders' input to shape effective policy measures. (Read the initiative here: https://lnkd.in/enTS6CaR) Our portfolio company DUDE CHEM responded to the call, emphasizing the urgent need to strengthen Europe’s pharmaceutical resilience. Highlighting Europe’s declining investment in chemical production in comparison to global competitors, DUDE CHEM advocates for fully using the potential of existing infrastructure through faster regulatory pathways and financial incentives. 🚀 DUDE CHEM stresses the support of innovation-driven enterprises as a way to ensure long-term pharmaceutical security and bring critical production back to Europe.
