Vision to Action 🌟 Hello everyone, and welcome to a brand new week! As we step further into quarter 2 of 2025, let’s take a moment to reflect on our goals and intentions for the rest of the year. Here's a powerful quote by Joel Arthur Baker to inspire your journey: ✨ "Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world." 💭 What’s your vision for the weeks ahead? Write it down. Take action. Let’s change the world — one step at a time.🌍✍🏽 #MondayMotivation #VisionWithAction #NewWeek #PlanInternationalNigeria #FutureGirlsWant #StandWithGirls

We strive for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
About us
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian non-profit organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood, and enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years and are now active in more than 70 countries, driving changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge. Plan International is registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission. Our Work in Nigeria We officially started operations in Nigeria in 2014 after acquiring ‘Centre for Development and Population Activities’ (CEDPA), a USA-based International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO) that began working in the country in 1985. Our Ambition It is our ambition to address the root cause of the issues that girls face in Nigeria and we will be bold and courageous in doing it. Over the next 5 years, we will work to Transform Power Relations in Favour of Girls. We will not stop until 10 million girls can learn, lead, decide and thrive.

Beyond The Numbers 📈 Support for disabilities is more than just providing aids. It’s about creating a world where every child belongs, thrives, and reaches their full potential. For Fatima and Muhammad, mobility challenges once stood in the way of their education, limiting their freedom and participation. But today, they walk with confidence, dignity, and renewed hope. Through the ECHO Project, they are not just recipients of mobility aids, they are champions of resilience, proof that inclusion transforms lives. Every child deserves the right to learn, grow, and reach their full potential without barriers. #PlanInternationalNigeria #StandWithGirls #FutureGirlsWant #CrutchesOfHope #BeyondTheNumbers #InclusiveEducation #EducationForAll #LeaveNoChildBehind

#ExcitingNews🚨 Historic Win for Girls in Bauchi! 🚨 Plan International Nigeria is excited to announce a major step forward for menstrual health and girls’ education in Nigeria! 🎉 The Bauchi State House of Assembly has passed a landmark bill to establish sanitary pad banks in schools and community centers — ensuring no girl misses school because of period poverty. Plan International Nigeria’s Country Director, Charles Usie, describes this as a “consequential and epoch-making” recognising Bauchi as the first state in Nigeria to take this transformative step. While congratulating the legislators led by the Speaker, Right Honourable Abubakar Y. Suleiman, for the historic passage of the bill, he called on the state governor to treat the newly passed bill with the same speed he treated the child protection bill in December 2023. This initiative builds on Plan International Nigeria’s successful pilot menstrual health project which took place in Bauchi state from 2021-2023 that kept girls in school and highlights the power of strong policies in changing lives. Let’s make period poverty history! 🩸💪 And we urge other states to take action and follow Bauchi’s lead. Let’s do this for girls and young women in Nigeria. 🔥 Read the press release here: https://lnkd.in/dG9iv5vm #MenstrualHealthMatters #EndPeriodPoverty #GirlsEducation #BauchiLeads #PlanInternational #PlanInternationalNigeria

#FlashBackFriday #ProgrammesRetreat ✨At Plan International Nigeria, we recognise that continuous review of an organisation’s programme and delivery approaches is key to implementing safe, inclusive, high-quality, and impactful interventions. In view of this, last Friday, we successfully concluded the Programmes Unit Annual Retreat, a strategic gathering of programme managers and coordinators from across Nigeria. Led by Dr. Helen Idiong, Director of Programme Quality and Influencing, the retreat provided a platform for in-depth discussions on: 📌 Alignment of our programmes and initiatives with Plan Nigeria’s Country Strategy 📌 Best practices in project management to enhance efficiency 📌 The role of Influencing in programme and project implementation 📌 Safeguarding measures to strengthen child protection in programming 📌 Gender-transformative approaches for inclusive and sustainable development 📌 Key challenges and opportunities in improving programme delivery, and so much more. By the end of the retreat, team members had gained deeper insights into impactful programming, and an action plan was developed to further strengthen programme quality and sustainability. More than just a review, this retreat was an opportunity to collaborate, share knowledge, and reinforce our commitment to driving transformational change for children and young people, especially girls, across Nigeria. 🚀 Together, we remain dedicated to creating lasting impact! 💙✨ #PlanInternational #PlanInternationalNigeria #StandWithGirls #FutureGirlsWant #ImpactfulProgramming #StrongerTogether #FlashBackFriday
