Gamuda Australia’s Coffs Harbour Bypass project has reached another major milestone with the breakthrough of the 320m Shephards Lane Tunnel. This follows the earlier breakthrough success at Gatelys Road Tunnel and marks strong progress on the project. Work continues with the Roberts Tunnel excavation starting next month, with all tunnels set for waterproofing by end 2025. #Gamuda #GamudaAustralia #GamudaGroupofCompanies #Transport #Tunnels #EngineeringExcellence
We’ve hit another milestone on the Coffs Harbour bypass with the breakthrough of our second tunnel! Following the successful breakthrough at the 410m Gatelys Road Tunnel in November, the Ferrovial Gamuda Australia construction team has now broken through at the 320m Shephards Lane Tunnel – successfully connecting both ends of the tunnels, allowing passage from one side to the other. It’s huge progress on this game-changing project, but we’re not done yet. Here are some key project updates: 🔹 Gatelys Road tunnel is progressing well with waterproof lining application. 🔹 Excavation for the 160m Roberts Hill tunnel begins next month, with a 24/7 operation and anticipated breakthrough by mid-year. 🔹 All three tunnels are expected to be waterproofed by the end of 2025, followed by concrete spraying, paving, and electrical fit-out. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to advance this exciting project! #Gamuda #GamudaAustralia #GlobalExpertise #LocalDelivery #Infrastructure #Transport #Roads Transport for NSW

A huge thank you to Google Cloud for the invitation and for being a key partner in scaling these efforts, as we push the boundaries of what’s possible in construction and engineering.
Honoured to represent Gamuda at the Google Cloud Technical Series with Mitesh Agarwal at Google’s regional office in Singapore, where we shared how AI and cloud technologies are driving real impact in the built environment. The Google Cloud Technical Series is an excellent hands-on training programme designed to help individuals and organisations deepen their cloud and AI capabilities. It was a privilege to share how we’re embedding advanced technologies into our operations, supported by our Gamuda Digital Operating System (GDOS) framework that enable us to build tools like Bot Unify, AskMe•AI, Tunnel Insight, and our interconnected construction management system for our global projects. We also shared our innovative talent initiative, the Gamuda AI Academy, dedicated to developing AI talent not just for Gamuda, but for the industry and nation. Our partnership with Google Cloud has been instrumental in scaling these initiatives, leveraging Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Cloud Run to push the boundaries of what’s possible. This collaboration goes beyond just adopting new technology—it also gives us the confidence and credibility to become a technology player as well.
