The The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) will operate round the clock, five days a week from 2Q26 enhancing investor access to US equities markets. But exchanges, brokers and banks could face challenges adapting to extended trade cycles. Bob Cioffi, global head of equities product management at ION Markets, told The Banker that businesses must consider adjusting staffing for technical and trade support teams. He added that less liquidity in extended hours could lead to wider spreads and higher price volatility.
