We were delighted to connect recently with @adamweismann from Clayworks whose fantastic books on natural finishes guided us in the construction of the seating and finishes @wildcoasttentedlodge. A decade of inspirational work promoting lime, adobe, cob, wattle and daub building techniques.

It may appear that we are being a little quiet at the moment. However, in truth we are quite busy....it is a case of rastrohiliopustrocity.

The trend is crystal clear - according to the Global Wellness Institute the wellness real estate market is blowing up - the sector is growing by 16% CAGR and is set to accelerate. In an increasingly chaotic and unpredictable world, people want to live in sustainable, secure communities with quality sports and wellness amenities. At Nomadic Resorts we have always been fascinated by this niche - the intersection between eco-resort and eco-village; privacy and community; sustainability and luxury. Our concept for the Green Village back in 2020 illustrates our approach - eco-villas with salt-water pool, permaculture vegetable garden, solar PV, roof top hammocks, and green roofs embedded into the slope of the mountain with dramatic views out over the lagoon ticks all the right boxes. Many thanks to Sarah Stodola for drawing attention to a very real issue for the hospitality industry in the NYTimes this week. Tropical lagoons are diverse, dynamic eco-systems that evolve and mature. They are homes to an impossibly intricate array of organisms who depend on seagrass, mangroves and native vegetation for their survival. Fertilizers, pesticides, irresponsible land use and poor waste management choices by hotel companies can destroy the natural capital on which the industry is literally built. For Nomadic Resorts it was fantastic to see Viva Playa featured as an example of sustainable landscaping, but more importantly these conversations are critical to change public perceptions of what make a fantastic beach. For us, it is a beach, humming with life and diversity. It is fascinating to see how our regenerative landscape design @wildcoasttentedlodge has evolved over time. The last zone of the project we completed has blossomed into a thriving eco-system.

It appears to be a hospitality design awards hat-trick. Following on from the Prix Versailles, and the @LIVawards, we are delighted to announce that Madi Hiyaa also won the 2025 Créateurs Design Awards for best hospitality project on Saturday. Many thanks to the panel of judges for recognizing the efforts of our fantastic design team for this project and highlighting the importance of bamboo as a sustainable construction material.
