Hankook Tire and Korea Maritime Environment Management Corporation join hands to utilize waste tires in a circular manner Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) announced on the 11th that it signed a business agreement with Korea Maritime Environment Management Corporation, LD Carbon, and Dreamstar to promote the circular use of waste tires. Under this agreement, Hankook Tire and others plan to establish a cooperative system that recycles waste tires, which are used as fender to relieve shock when berthing and docking ships, and turns them into recycled raw materials. Once the cooperation system is established, Hankook Tire will select and supply waste tires, and Dreamstar, a comprehensive recycling company, will collect and transport the tires and process them, such as drilling holes. Korea Maritime Environment Management Corporation receives these processed products(fender) and uses them on ships, and waste tires that have reached the end of their life as fender are collected by LDC and undergo pyrolysis to make recovered carbon black and pyrolysis oil. These companies and organizations plan to introduce a real-name system to prevent waste tire fenders from being lost to the ocean.

LD Carbon, the Army’s 1st Logistics Support Command, and Geumsan Environment signed a three-party business agreement for ‘waste tire resource circulation’ LD Carbon Co., Ltd. , a company specializing in resource circulation and raw material recycling, announced that it has signed a three-party business agreement with the Army's 1st Logistics Support Command and Geumsan Environment Co., Ltd. for ‘recycling waste tires resources’. Within military units, tires are used not only for military vehicles, but also for various military equipment and weapons, and waste tires are also used for construction of bunker positions and are widely utilized. However, if they are not properly disposed of or left unattended, they can cause problems as well as environmental pollution and safety accidents, so much attention is being paid to the disposal of waste tires within each military unit. Through this agreement, LDC will receive waste tires processed within the Army's 1st Logistics Support Command, and use its proprietary technology to convert waste tires into carbon black and pyrolysis oil. Geumsan Environment will be responsible for collecting waste tires and transporting them to LDC.
