Villgro Africa, in partnership with the University of Warwick, Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and Jaza Rift Ventures, unveiled The Regulatory Sandbox for Health-Tech Innovations at the #KIW2024. The event aimed to introduce and discuss the concept of a health-tech regulatory sandbox to inform and shape a more adaptive regulatory framework for health-technology innovations in Kenya. A regulatory sandbox serves as a controlled environment for emerging health-tech innovations, particularly when existing regulatory frameworks are insufficient or outdated. By relaxing certain regulations, the sandbox facilitates developing and testing new health technologies while maintaining oversight and safety. #KIWAfricaEdition Ministry of Health, Kenya Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) Jaza Rift Villgro Africa Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports and The Arts Robert Karanja, PhD Jeremmy Okonjo, Robert Mutai
