Did you know that you can face up to 2 years in prison or, a fine of Ksh 1,000,000 (US$7,750), or both for just selling or exchanging indigenous seeds in Kenya? Read more in this article drafted by our CEO, Dadson Kinyua, for The ONE Campaign’s Aftershocks newsletter and understand why we must protect smallholder farmers instead of implementing punitive laws hindering food sovereignty. https://lnkd.in/dS5equw9

We are preparing the farm for the coming season, turning virgin land into productive land. Remember, Africa has 65% of the world's remaining uncultivated arable land. Truly, Africa is blessed, but we have yet to enjoy the resources, and we are feeling the impact. Over 20% of Africans are undernourished, yet we have enough land and enough labor force to feed the whole World. Join us in this transformational journey because you and us (Clauzy Farms) can solve Africa’s biggest challenges: food insecurity and poverty. #Youngfarmer #BelieveInYourDreams #Farming #FeedThePeople #Foodsecurity #Kenya

Africa's agribusiness sector is forecast to be worth $1 trillion by 2030. As a youth, I want to take advantage of this big opportunity and have a piece of the pie. I aim to offer affordable and nutritious food and contribute toward ending hunger by 2030 through our new baby Clauzy Farms That said, we just finished fencing our new farm in Ngobit, Laikipia East, Kenya, which will be prepared/dug this week for the first crops (yellow beans) to be planted in October. We will also introduce new crop varieties and livestock in 2025 as we work on having a reliable water source. We aim to make Clauzy Farms a center of excellence and share our farming knowledge with the local community, especially youths and women. Thanks to everyone who has mentored me and offered me an opportunity to work for you since your payments made my dream come true.😊 From writing to action now. Every dream starts with a single step. 🧑🌾 Follow Clauzy Farms for updates. #YouthinAgriculture #FoodSecurity #Farming #EndHunger #Clauzyfarm

Chapatis goes well with beans, and SDG2 Advocacy Hub, led by Paul Newnham is requesting people to embrace eating plant-based proteins, with beans being their best choice. Their campaign, #BeansIsHow, aims to double bean consumption globally by 2028. I believe this is achievable, and you only need to make the choice. #Foodsecurity #Chapatis #Beans

Over the weekend, I visited an old friend in Laikipia who is in his 70s and doing well in goat and sheep farming. He told me that after the recent outbreak of lumpy skin disease, many animals died, leaving farmers with huge losses. The government responded by mass-vaccinating livestock to prevent the spread of infections. Farmers who were able to protect their animals are currently making huge profits from selling goats and sheep to farmers who are restocking their herds. This has increased goat and sheep prices, and farmers consider it more profitable than keeping dairy cows in the area. #LivestockKeeping #Agriculture #CSA
