🍜 Ramen in space!!! 🍜 Space BD's third "Space Delivery Project: Return to Earth" successfully completed its mission!🚀🛰️💫 After a remarkable 10-month journey in space - our longest exposure period yet - various items including ramen ingredients, commercial product materials, and logo plates have safely returned to Earth from the ISS. Launched on November 10, 2023, these items orbited Earth approximately 16 times daily at 400km altitude before returning on December 18, 2024. This mission showcases new possibilities for commercial space utilization, from food industry applications to materials testing. We're excited to announce "Sorabana" - a groundbreaking collaboration between Space BD, renowned architect Kengo Kuma & Associates, and Gyokusendo, the historic tsuiki copperware studio preserving one of Japan's most remarkable metalworking traditions! 🚀✨ Four copper plates crafted by Gyokusendo's master artisans spent three months aboard the ISS, exposed to cosmic rays and ultraviolet radiation. Upon their return to Earth, they were transformed into a stunning artwork under Kengo Kuma's supervision, capturing the mystery of space through their uniquely altered surfaces. This one-of-a-kind piece represents a fascinating intersection of centuries-old Japanese craftsmanship - where every hammer strike is performed with precision to shape the copper - with cutting-edge space exploration. One lucky winner will have the chance to acquire it through a special New Year's lottery at Tamagawa Takashimaya in 2025.
