We're excited to announce "Sorabana" - a groundbreaking collaboration between Space BD, renowned architect Kengo Kuma & Associates, and Gyokusendo, the historic tsuiki copperware studio preserving one of Japan's most remarkable metalworking traditions! 🚀✨ Four copper plates crafted by Gyokusendo's master artisans spent three months aboard the ISS, exposed to cosmic rays and ultraviolet radiation. Upon their return to Earth, they were transformed into a stunning artwork under Kengo Kuma's supervision, capturing the mystery of space through their uniquely altered surfaces. This one-of-a-kind piece represents a fascinating intersection of centuries-old Japanese craftsmanship - where every hammer strike is performed with precision to shape the copper - with cutting-edge space exploration. One lucky winner will have the chance to acquire it through a special New Year's lottery at Tamagawa Takashimaya in 2025. We're proud to continue pushing the boundaries of space utilization while creating new value through unexpected collaborations. https://lnkd.in/gZFZm5Fz #SpaceBD #JapaneseCraft #KengoKuma #Gyokusendo

WUDA Advent Calendar 2024 ✨ DAY 15 / 24 days, 24 inspirations Leonardo da Vinci - People Who Inspire Us Leonardo da Vinci stands as one of history’s most inspiring polymaths—an artist, scientist, engineer, and architect whose mind soared as high as the flying machines he imagined. Leonardo da Vinci wasn’t just an artist or inventor—he was a designer of dreams, whose ideas bridged art, architecture, and the natural world. Alongside masterpieces like The Last Supper, his lesser-known creations include flying machines inspired by birds, centuries ahead of their time. His notebooks, filled with intricate drawings and mirrored handwriting, blur the lines between art and science. Leonardo’s architectural work was equally visionary. His contributions included designs for fortifications, centralised churches, and, most notably, his concept of the ideal city, imagined as a blend of beauty and functionality. If you’re ever in Milan, a visit to the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology is a must. Located near the Last Supper, this museum brings his genius to life, showcasing models of his flying machines and other designs that make you marvel at his unparalleled ingenuity. Leonardo reminds us that to design is to dream and to dream is to dare. At WUDA, we celebrate design that pushes boundaries and blurs the lines between art, science, and possibility. What designs will you dream of that, like Leonardo’s, can take flight? #LeonardoDaVinci #WUDAAdventCalendar #IdealCity #VisionaryDesign #FlyingMachines

The Essence of #Void in #Neuroarchitecture 🔔 Do you often think about "THE VOID"? Is it an actual absence or fulfillment? Or is it LIFE itself? 👏 Consider the void between your hands when you clap, or the voids in our bodies when we dance, the grace of our hips moving from one curve to the next is accentuated by the void in between. Clapping or dancing defines our feelings and perception of certain events. It is about how many voids we create and for how long. Similarly, the distance between a water droplet and the ground is a void that holds potential energy and anticipation. 🔷 Have you ever seen the color blue in nature, such as a beautiful blue butterfly that crosses your mind from time to time? Its color is not the result of blue pigmentation but rather the result of structural voids. These microscopic voids interact with light to create stunning blue hues. The void is integral to our existence. It is within the womb, where life begins. It is the absence we feel when someone important is missing, a void that highlights their significance. The space between arms before a hug is charged with anticipation, a void that leads to connection. 🎈 Take a deep breath. Even in our breathing, the void created when we inhale initiates the need to exhale, continuing the cycle of life. Silence, often described as a void, provides a canvas for peace of mind. The void created by a volcanic explosion can transform into a serene lake, and the spaces between trees in a forest create harmony and pave our journey. 🏛 In architecture, voids define the structure and functionality of spaces. We inhabit and move through voids, and these spaces influence our mental and emotional states. The challenge and beauty of neuroarchitecture lie in designing voids that nurture well-being and direct our minds toward healthy patterns. 💬 The absence of something often gives rise to the presence of another. In both life and architecture, voids are the keys to fulfillment and meaning. The key to life is learning how to control and fill these voids positively. In architecture, the key is to manipulate and model the void using masses to achieve designs that target the human mind, creating spaces that enhance our mental and emotional well-being. #Neuroarchitecture #CognitiveArchitecture #ArchitecturalPsychology #NeuroscienceInDesign #BrainSpaceDesign #Biophilia #BiophilicDesign #NatureInDesign #ArchitecturalVoid #SpaceAndForm #VoidDesign #EmptinessInDesign

Title: "Fornelli X: Astronaut Design" The image showcases an astronaut standing front and center against a red triangle backdrop, with the design emphasizing dark, gritty aesthetics. The astronaut is dressed in a black spacesuit, intricately detailed with belts, clasps, and life-support equipment, contrasting against the pale beige background. The helmet’s visor is completely black, hiding the face and maintaining the figure's anonymity. Black and red splashes around the astronaut add to the dynamic, rough texture of the scene. The red triangle behind the astronaut stands out sharply, symbolizing power or focus, and is surrounded by dark smoke-like textures and splatters that extend outward, giving the composition a raw, energetic feel. Below the astronaut is a stylized logo that reads “Fornelli X Design” in black and red, with a downward-pointing red triangle above the text, complementing the central imagery. The overall composition balances modern, abstract art with bold, futuristic design elements, emphasizing mystery and strength. #astronaut #design #redtriangle #abstractart

First attempt to finetune Flux! Training my custom FormFinder-Flux LoRA model - results look really promising. Based on Flux-dev model, the best thing about finetuning it is the fact that it understands really well natural language and long descriptive prompts. In this example along with my LoRA this was the prompt I used: "Architecture photography of a highly detailed sculptural museum building in a serene Norwegian rural environment. The building is completely made out of one natural carved black rock. The facade massing form resembles a huge carved rock with the building seeming to just hover above ground. The ground floor of the building is super transparent and full of shops and cafes. The overall composition and design of the image is very artistic and editorial. Around the museum there are lots of wild animals mainly sheep and cow. 35mm camera with atmospheric natural lighting" Really excited to test this further. (personal work unrelated to practice) #ai #aiarchitecture #architecture #design #flux

“The vertical growth of a building is determined by the development of its structure, calculated to withstand all weather conditions throughout the year. Similarly, our corporate ecosystems grow based on a solid foundation. It is essential to be analytical and realistic when assessing whether there has been good structuring. If not, it is necessary to face reality and execute a turnaround at the structural base, at the root.” Rafael Serradura, 2024 . The collection of works I share is based on abstract and decentralised thinking, transitioning from the intangible to the materialised in algorithmic realism, where its metadata transcends from the metaverse to physical expressiveness. Having experienced the algorithmic world in its theoretical essence applied in the corporate market, I am embarking on a new phase, applying this science in Digital Art and expanding the idea of "Being Disruptive." Initially, I create the artworks with Roman marble busts, which are significant elements both in the artistic movement and in Roman history. They represent a combination of cultural and stylistic influences from different periods and regions. But why did I choose marble as the foundation for all the arts? Marble is a metamorphic rock composed primarily of calcite (a calcium carbonate mineral). It forms when limestone is subjected to high temperatures and pressures, usually as a result of deep geological processes in the Earth's crust. Marble is known for its crystalline and translucent appearance, resulting from the recrystallisation process of the present minerals, which increases the rock's density and hardness. Although it is relatively hard, it can still be carved and polished, making it popular in sculpture and construction. It has a density of about 2.7 grams per cubic centimetre and a hardness of about 3 on the Mohs scale. The continuous works represent the result of life subjecting us to high temperatures and pressures, reflecting the processes of the environments we experience. They highlight a timeless transformation, achieving a crystalline and translucent clarity. Being dense and solid, these works promote a lasting legacy. #Literature #Disruptive #NewBeginnings #Sculpture #Marble #Algorithm #Decentralization #DigitalArt #Dynamus #RafaelSerradura

NATURE’S SPIRALED SUBMARINE: The Nautilus and Its Timeless Inspiration The Nautilus shell is considered magical and inspirational by many, often symbolizing beauty, harmony, and the mysteries of nature. Here are some key points about its uniqueness and the story behind its function: Unique Structure. Mathematical Significance: The golden ratio appears in various natural forms, including shells, flowers, and even galaxies. The Nautilus shell serves as a prime example of how this mathematical concept manifests in the natural world. Chambered Design: The shell is divided into a series of chambers, which the Nautilus uses for buoyancy control. As the animal grows, it creates new chambers and seals off the older ones, allowing it to float and navigate through the ocean. Functionality. Buoyancy Control: The Nautilus can adjust its buoyancy by regulating the gas and liquid within these chambers. By adding or removing gas, it can rise or sink in the water column, making it adept at navigating its environment. Survival Mechanism: The chambers provide protection from predators and environmental changes, showcasing an evolutionary adaptation that has allowed the Nautilus to thrive for millions of years. Symbolism and Inspiration. Natural Harmony: The Nautilus shell is often seen as a symbol of the interconnectedness of life and the universe. Its growth pattern reflects natural laws and the beauty of mathematical relationships found in nature. Art and Culture: The Nautilus has inspired artists, architects, and scientists for centuries. Its shape and form are celebrated in various cultural contexts, representing growth, evolution, and the journey of life. This connection extends into graphic design, where the golden ratio serves as a guiding principle for creating harmonious and visually appealing compositions. By understanding and applying this ratio, designers can enhance the aesthetic quality of their work, making it more effective and memorable. About the cover photo: “Spiral Symphony" captures the vibrant essence of a nautilus shell in a mesmerizing dance of color and form. The digitally rendered piece showcases the shell's intricate chambers, each brought to life with gradients of pinks, purples, blues, and whites. The dynamic background echoes the shell's elegant curvature, creating a harmonious blend that evokes movement and energy. This artwork invites viewers to explore the beauty of nature's geometry through a modern, abstract lens. #NautilusShell #GoldenRatio #NaturalBeauty #Inspiration #ArtAndScience #SpiralSymphony
