#EXPO2025: Only 10 days until the opening of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, where you can witness the progress being made towards a society that has achieved carbon neutrality (decarbonization). One advanced technology on display is a DAC (Direct Air Capture) plant, a proof-of-concept system that captures CO2 directly from the air through three cylindrical fan intakes, adsorbs CO2 onto absorbent material, and then separates the elements via heat. Authorized NPO REALE WORLD operates boys' and girls' soccer clubs ⚽ in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and Nepal. Leveraging this unique position, they collect used soccer shoes from Japanese children at soccer tournaments in Japan as the participation fee and then “pass” them to children in Nepal and other countries, where they can help kids there put their best foot forward. Meet American illustrator Kailene Falls. Attracted by Japan's unique aesthetics and sense of design, she chose to major in graphic design and the Japanese language at the University of Minnesota. After working for design agencies in Tokyo, she started working as a freelance illustrator in 2018, and has published a book 📚 of her watercolor renditions of the food she has encountered in Japan.
