The idea was to create something new, something that would represent our culture and at the same time project us into the future so, thanks to the collaboration of companies coming from Veneto and California, the Vitruvian Virtual Reality was born: a project that has been inspired by the past to look to the future. It's the first simulator of its kind that allows not only to passively prove, in an extremely realistic way, the sensations of a wingsuit flight but even to control it by creating an interactive experience. As the work of Leonardo da Vinci, the Vitruvian Man, puts a man in the center of a circle that represents harmony and perfection, in the same way the Vitruvian VR places the person in the middle of a huge gyroscope that, thanks to joysticks and new technologies, lets him move freely inside virtual reality. Intel and B&R participation in the project allowed, in less than a year, to move from a simple idea to a finished product that embodies innovation, simplicity and Italian design that's now ready to be pre-marketed.

The report from our second Venice Immersive Think Tank about the distribution and exhibition of immersive content has just been published. Held on 1st September 2024, during the last edition of Venice Immersive at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, The Think Tank gathered together over 40 leading immersive distribution stakeholders. This year we honed in on The LBE Market and the pressing needs of immersive distribution and exhibition in venues. Thanks to Kent Bye who wrote up the report, edited by myself and Michel Reilhac. The report also features anonymised data and responses from participants of the Think Tank who took part in a survey we sent out beforehand to help guide the discussion.
