Dynamic Architecture 🦾 The International Olympic Committee Headquarters in Lausanne embraces architectural dynamism. Located by the lake, the building’s design flows seamlessly with its surroundings. We created a custom three-story inclined and twisted double facade with 194 unique glass panels. Each panel has a custom angular deformation to match the building’s curved shape. A Sneak Peek 🆕 We’re currently working on a revitalization project for a hotel set to reopen around Easter. We’ve been entrusted with the development, technical planning, manufacturing, and installation of sliding window systems and a newly installed balcony structure with stainless steel railings. A Curved Kiss 🔄 The Coal Drops Yard shopping centre in London combines historical and modern architecture. This project perfectly showcases our over 50 years of expertise in working with existing structures. A particularly striking feature is the freestanding connecting bridge, the "Kissing Point", with its 565 m² stepped "zig-zag" glass facade and insulating glazing. The highest point reaches 8 metres. This project is part of the renovation and revitalisation of a former industrial area at King’s Cross. Harmonious Interventions 🔄 A private villa revitalisation, characterised by a successful interplay of the historical and the new. This project in Tuscany, which we realised on behalf of Studio Milani, features a number of elegant additional features. FRENER & REIFER created a connecting building in weathering steel with load-bearing glass facades and a staircase in the same material with glass treads and balustrades for the library. We also provided doors, sliding doors and skylights, as well as windows framed by burnished bronze. The judicious use of materials combined with refined design solutions reflects the know-how accumulated over decades of refurbishing private residences. Decorative Roof Design 🔝 The lobby of the 5-star luxury hotel The Emory is graced with a custom roof construction featuring milled nodes in stainless steel. The roof struts are elaborately bolted together with laser-welded triangular profiles, providing a robust yet elegant solution. The load-bearing structure of the centre node consists of tension rods attached to the external mullions using welded-on lugs. All surfaces were ground and protected in advance to produce the best possible visual appearance. A striking detail is the radial grind between the two welded-on, longitudinally ground lugs on the support bracket. A colourful and creative example of top-level craftsmanship! All-One, Old-New 🔄 For Dr. Bronner's we designed and implemented an architecturally striking building envelope. The historic building was enhanced with a honeycomb-shaped supporting structure and glazing. Each pane features a unique geometry. The 104 m² glass facade was designed as an add-on construction on a load-bearing steel structure. The original building is still reflected in the overall form of the building. New and old – all as one.
