Together we can shape the future of Nephrology.
Chi siamo
With more than 28,000 members, the ERA (European Renal Association) is one of the biggest nephrology associations worldwide and one of the most important and prestigious European Medical Associations. It supports basic and clinical research in the fields of clinical nephrology, dialysis, renal transplantation and related subjects. Our mission is to reduce the burden of chronic kidney disease that often leads to kidney failure. In Europe, the number of patients who need dialysis or renal transplantations is still rising. Therefore we need to fight chronic kidney disease! The European Renal Association (ERA) does not offer medical advice. Information in all its publications, including its website and social media, is of a general nature and should not be used for the diagnosis or treatment of specific individuals. ERA cannot engage in correspondence of any sort about such matters. ERA also cannot recommend or provide information about where, or from whom, to obtain healthcare services. If you have a medical problem or require medical advice, you should consult a doctor or other appropriate healthcare professional.

🔤 It’s as easy as ABCDE! We’re thrilled to announce the publication of “ABCDE to identify and prevent chronic kidney disease: a call to action” in Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation. 📢 This critical call to action from our Strong Kidneys Taskforce, in collaboration with the European Kidney Health Alliance and the European Patients Federation, emphasises the urgent need for early identification and prevention of chronic kidney disease (CKD). With over 850 million people worldwide affected, CKD is a substantial global health concern, closely linked to cardio-kidney-metabolic multimorbidity. Yet, early detection and intervention can make a life-changing difference – slowing or even preventing the progression of CKD. ✅ To empower individuals, communities, and healthcare professionals with the tools to take action, the ABCDE framework offers a simple, clear approach to assess the risk of CKD with five key questions: 🔹 A – Do I have Albumin in my urine? 🔹 B – What is my Blood pressure? 🔹 C – What is my Cholesterol? 🔹 D – Do I have Diabetes? 🔹 E – What is my current kidney function (Estimated glomerular filtration rate, eGFR)? 💡 Our mission is to show that identifying the risks of kidney, cardiac, and metabolic health is simple, logical, and lifesaving. It really is as easy as ABCDE! 📖 Read the full publication here: https://bit.ly/43XniOy 🔍 Stay tuned as we dive deeper into each of these factors in the coming weeks. #StrongKidneys #KidneyHealth #KidneyCare #KidneyHealthAwareness #HealthyKidneys #ProtectYourKidneys
