    saba house, developed by project 51 a (h), originated from the renovation of a 60-year-old residence that accommodated four generations. the design incorporates solid red wall segments that modulate wind flow and continue into the interior and furnishings. the color was selected for its visual contrast and compatibility with the surrounding greenery, allowing saba house to visually distinguish itself from the landscape and nearby buildings. read more here: https://lnkd.in/eubFx_kf

    new york city officially opens a major addition to central park, the davis center at the harlem meer. designed by architect Susan T Rodriguez | Architecture • Design PLLC in collaboration with Mitchell Giurgola, the project replaces the old lasker rink and pool with a recreational facility. at the heart of the new design is a water feature that shifts with the seasons, from a skating rink in winter to a lush green lawn in spring and fall and a pool in the summer. located at its northeast corner, the new davis center is part of a broader initiative by the Central Park Conservancy. read more here: https://lnkd.in/eBeC_xJu

    the horn series is a collection of furniture constructed from discarded speaker components, developed by juyong shim as an exploration of alternative material functions. the project, unveiled at salonesatellite, milan design week 2025, reinterprets the form and structural logic of the speaker horn, an object rendered obsolete by technological shifts, by integrating it into functional, sculptural designs for domestic use. read more here: https://lnkd.in/etE_DgSc

    20 years after its completion, the reversible destiny lofts mitaka, dedicated in theory and spirit to the memory of helen keller, remains one of the most enigmatic experiments in residential architecture. with a focus on activating both body and mind, the nine-unit complex in suburban tokyo was conceived by artists and architects shusaku arakawa and madeline gins as a house ‘to not to die’ — one which continuously engages and stimulates the occupant. it comprises three geometric archetypes, including the cube, the sphere, and the tube, each stacked and interlocked into irregular compositions. affectionately referred to as an ‘ultrachromatic undying house’ by novelist setouchi jakuchou, the bright structures are painted inside-out in 14 different colors and formed by spatial irregularities. read more here: https://lnkd.in/eyy6pJ34
