UPL SAS was thrilled to be the Associate Sponsor of the CII Northern Region Sustainable Agriculture Summit. The CII Sustainable Agriculture Summit – Cultivating a Greener Future: Innovation, Resilience, Sustainability" is a forum encouraging discussions, knowledge exchange, and collaboration on leveraging technology to advance sustainable agricultural practices. This conference provides a platform for experts, stakeholders, policymakers, researchers, and innovators to explore technology-driven solutions for addressing challenges and opportunities in agriculture while promoting environmental sustainability. Harshal Sonawane, Head of Sustainability at UPL SAS, was part of a panel along with Anil Jain, Prashant Hegde, Chandrashekhar Shukla and Komal Shah Bhukhanwala at the Summit. Harshal shared how UPL's innovative agri solutions like Zeba is championing sustainability. Zeba is a corn starch based super absorbent of water and improves farm productivity while reducing water and electricity usage by 30% and fertilizer usage reduction by 25%. He also shed light on Shashwat Mithaas - UPL's Sustainable Sugar Program, which focuses on bringing all stakeholders of sugar value chain like farmers, sugar mills, sugar off-takers together to make the sugar value chain sustainable. UPL SAS, in collaboration with CEASI- Centres of Excellence for Agriculture Skills in India, hosted a workshop on "Sustainable Sugarcane: Advancing Productivity, Partnerships and Future Pathways" at Acharya Narendra Deva University Of Agriculture And Technology, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, as part of 'Shashwat Mithaas - UPL SAS' Sustainable Sugar Program'. The event was graced by the University Vice Chancellor, Dean of Agriculture, Horticulture & Forestry and Director of Extension reinforcing the commitment to sustainable sugarcane farming. This collaboration represents a crucial step toward enhancing productivity of sugarcane farmers while integrating sustainability throughout the sugar value chain.
