“Team work makes the dream work” is an oft repeated saying that sometimes sounds cliched. But each time we execute an event, the importance of the saying gets magnified and hits home. Here we are, executing another fantastic 450 pax offsite admirably managed by our magnificent team at The Wanderers onboard #CostaSerena as we went on a 4 night cruise from Laem Chabang port near Pattaya to #phuquoc in #vietnam and onward to #kohsamui and back to the home port. 4 days of endless fun with multiple shore excursions (including on the worlds longest non stop 3-rope cable car ride in Phu Quoc) & ship-entertainment. Planning tirelessly over 3months, we pulled off a complex offsite that included VIP handling, India operations and a 2 country 4 night cruise operation. After completing a 3 year degree in Hotel management from IHM Taratala, Kolkata, Saugat started his wonderful journey with the hospitality industry in Mumbai. He has over 27 years of Hotel experience starting with Front office Operations followed by mostly Sales & Marketing. During this period he worked with established hotel brands such as Starwood, Marriott, ITC hotels, Intercontinental Mumbai (presently Lalit) and The Park hotels. His last assignment was with ITC hotels as Area Head of Sales – East, based out of ITC Complex Kolkata, where he was instrumental in driving topline and ensuring market competitiveness for Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Port Blair properties.       The move to spearhead Business Development for MICE for The Wanderers was triggered due to his eagerness to explore opportunities beyond hotel sales, enhance his skill set in creating memorable experiences for discerning travellers and create unique concepts for conferences, events and offsites, something that The Wanderers specialises in through their event vertical Colour Purple Events LLP. Abhik Dutta, Director and co-founder of The Wanderers adds: "Saugat's enormous knowledge and customer connect will assist the organisation to explore opportunities and scale up MICE / events business from India. Detailing is very crucial when it comes to executing a MICE group. At The Wanderers (and its event subsidiary Colour Purple Events LLP) we have a saying: "Executing a MICE group is like playing a Test match. To win the match, you have to win every session.
