Another week, another major news in the quantum world. After Microsoft and Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced its first-generation quantum computing chip combining cat qubits and superconducting charge qubits. I believe the next trillion-dollar company will be built in quantum computing, quite likely in the next decade. Fault tolerant quantum computers would unlock breakthroughs spanning pharma, materials, finance and cryptography – reshaping the world as we know it. At pi Ventures, we have already invested in Quanfluence which is building a 1000 qubit continuous-variable fault tolerant photonic quantum computer.
