Team LoopMIT recently had the privilege to attend the Global Hyperloop Conference held at IIT Madras from the 19th to the 21st of April. The learning opportunities and exposure our team has had in these 3 days were nothing short of incredible. On a short trip to the IITM Thaiyur Campus on the 19th, we ventured into the startup scene by visiting the E-Plane Company workshop and having a brief look into how they manufacture full-scale electric air taxis. After that, we had the pleasure of seeing the full-scale vacuum tube built by L&T and Indian Railways. Coming back to the main campus visiting the IITM Center for Innovation and seeing all the student teams reminded us of the Student Activity Center back at MIT. Later in the evening, a pod demonstration was conducted by Team Avishkar for their latest pod Garuda. The conference on the 20th and 21st was aimed at discussing the scalability of hyperloop technology and its widespread implementation. It was enriching to connect with industry experts and visionaries who are looking to revolutionise transportation. From thought-provoking talks and panel discussions led by pioneers in the field to stalls set up by various university-level teams from all over the country, every moment was a testament to innovation. Perhaps the most inspiring aspect of our experience was the opportunity to engage with fellow Hyperloop teams from our country. We exchanged ideas, and shared experiences, and celebrated our shared vision for the future with teams like Avishkar, Nirmaan, Infinity, Vegapod and Ashwa. We would like to applaud the efforts of the GHC managing committee(especially Arpit Garg, the head of the event and Poras Wadhai, our point of contact for the event) and Team Avishkar for taking this initiative to create a Hyperloop ecosystem in India so that all the teams can compete and grow, especially to showcase ourselves at a global level. We look forward to participating in Paarivahan 2025- the Global Hyperloop Competition! #LoopMIT #KeepLoopin #Hyperloop #Innovation #Collaboration #FutureOfTransportation #Parivahan #GHC #HyperloopIndia #TUMHyperloop #HARDTHyperloop

On 07/04/24, loopMIT had the privilege of hosting Mr. Harish Shah, a renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Signet Capital Pvt Ltd and also the Director of Harish and Bina Shah Foundation. He is an alumnus of MIT from the batch 1980, Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Shah is known for his visionary leadership and commitment to fostering young talent. During his visit, we were also graced by the presence of our esteemed director, Dr. Anil Rana, our joint director, Dr. Somashekara Bhat, and other dignitaries. The gathering provided a platform for meaningful exchanges and insights into hyperloop technology and entrepreneurship. The interaction with Mr. Shah was particularly enriching as we had the opportunity to showcase our hyperloop pod. His genuine interest and questions demonstrated his keen understanding of emerging trends and technologies. We were thrilled to see him impressed by our work, further motivating us to strive for excellence in our endeavors. Overall, it was a highly fruitful discussion that left a lasting impact on us.
