MoU Signed! JEEVIKA and the BC & EBC Welfare Department have signed an MoU to enhance the welfare of students in 39 OBC Girls' Residential Plus-2 High Schools. Team JEEVIKA at IRMA, Gujarat! Our team (Mahua Roy Choudhury, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh, Anuja Shanker and Arpan Mukherjee) recently represented JEEVIKA at a two-day national conference hosted by the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Gujarat, and sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Sciences Research (ICSSR). They presented a paper titled 'Enhancing Women's Participation in Dairy Cooperatives: A Case Study of Kaushikee Mahila Milk Producer Company Limited', an ongoing study we are excited to share with you all very soon. But the conference was not just about presentations; it was also about learning from the ground up. Alongside participants from across the country, our team toured Amul's butter and dry milk plant in Anand. From watching milk go through cleaning, fat separation and standardisation, to seeing it packed with precision — it was a fascinating behind-the-scenes experience. They also explored Amul's fully-automated chocolate plant and saw, up close, how those tasty bars are made and packaged. Here are a few glimpses from the visit. JEEVIKA Didis Ready to Fight Malnutrition! JEEVIKA Didis will now go door to door in villages across Bihar to monitor children's growth and identify malnutrition early. How Will This Work? Children's height and weight will be measured using growth monitoring kits and their progress will be tracked weekly. If a child is found underweight, parents will receive a nutrition chart with a diet plan. Follow-ups will ensure improvement. A Powerful Start to Our Weekly Webinar Series! The first session of our weekly webinar series began today and what better day to start than Bihar Diwas? Retired IAS officer Amarjeet Sinha led the session, taking us through Bihar's rich heritage (the land of Buddhism, Jainism and Nalanda University) and how JEEVIKA has been a driving force in empowering women across the state. For students, his advice was simple and practical: ✔️ Don't fear technology and AI. They are just tools, not the end goal. ✔️ Bihar has progressed, but we need to focus on productivity. ✔️ Look at opportunities in the service sector. Housekeeping, tourism, nursing and teaching are growing fields. ✔️ Learning is not just in books. Talk, share and learn from those around you. ✔️ Go beyond memorising. Build skills that help you analyse, evaluate and solve problems. ✔️ Pick up practical skills like using computers, speaking English and understanding finance. More than 5,500 students from 100 Didi Ki Libraries joined the session, along with 1000+ viewers on YouTube. Mr Sinha also took their questions, making it a truly interactive and engaging discussion.
