✨ Yesterday we kicked off a new tradition — "A Morning of Inspiration" at Quantum Source. We started our day with a talk by Prof. Barak Dayan who discussed the fundamental scientific principles behind deterministic photon-atom interactions – from the quantum description of single photons, through single-photon nonlinearity, to Quantum Source’s recent PRX Quantum paper, which outlines our photon-atom gates based architecture for large-scale photonic quantum computation. Prof. Avshalom Elitzur followed with a compelling presentation that posed a bold question: Could we be witnessing the beginning of a new revolution in physics — one as profound as the birth of quantum theory itself? Quite possibly, if we accept the idea that quantum processes can evolve not only from past to future, but also from future to past. This unique perspective, developed by Yakir Aharonov, leads to surprising predictions — even for those well-acquainted with quantum strangeness. In his talk, Prof. Elitzur shared recent developments in this fascinating field. A lively dialogue followed between him and Prof. Dayan, joined by Prof. Eliahu Cohen and Prof. Lev Khaykovich from Bar-Ilan University, demonstrating the power of quantum theory to breathe new life into ancient philosophical paradoxes — and to inspire novel solutions for modern technologies. It was a wonderful chance for us to meet fellow scientists and colleagues from the field, hear updates from old friends, and even debate deep philosophical puzzles – from the Quantum Zeno paradox, to how to house 10 pigeons in 9 boxes without having two in the same box… 🙏 Excited for the next entangled morning...
