Traditional observability tools often fall short, resulting in fragmented insights and high costs. In his article, Noam Levy, groundcover’s Field CTO and founding engineer, introduces a modern approach to observability with the B.O.S.S. framework: Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) 🔹 One-Stop Shop 🔹 Standardized 🔹 Self-Reliant. This framework tackles common challenges by delivering a unified, efficient, and cost-effective observability solution. Shahar, Co-Founder and CEO at groundcover, explains the fundamental difference between monitoring and true observability. He argues that while Grafana and Prometheus provide monitoring capabilities, they primarily focus on metrics and raw data rather than delivering comprehensive observability. Shahar describes how groundcover uses a single sensor technology to correlate traces, logs, and metrics in one place, creating meaningful insights through data correlation. He emphasizes that this correlation is where "the magic starts to happen". He highlights how eBPF technology enables this deeper level of system understanding that traditional monitoring tools cannot achieve. A trend is a trend… so we had to jump in 😎 Which observability kit would you pick? 🦆 The emotional-support-duck edition? OR 🍒 The one with shiny dashboards, a happy piggy bank, and just the right amount of milkshake magic? Let’s be honest… chaos is kind of fun — but smooth #observability hits different!

It hit me at a Chelsea–Tottenham match (god, what a game BTW…) I was sitting (standing and barely breathing) in a bar before the game, the kind of place where the floor shakes from the chants of fans who live for this. Pure passion. Unfiltered energy. People who show up not just for the game, but because it’s part of who they are. Years ago, KubeCon felt like that. A gathering of rebels and early adopters rallying around this raw, emerging idea called Kubernetes. Back then, it wasn’t polished. It wasn’t mainstream. It was an underdog, and the people who showed up were there to build the future. But times have changed. Kubernetes has grown up. It’s the default now — the infrastructure equivalent of a suburban staple. What once felt like a punk band’s basement gig now feels like a sold-out arena show with commercial sponsors. So what keeps bringing us back? It’s not the hype around Kubernetes itself — it’s what we do with it. It’s how we apply this now-mature foundation to power entirely new use to solve problems that were once out of reach. That’s what keeps us at groundcover coming back to KubeCon. K8s was our stepping stone into a Bring Your Own Cloud architecture—a use case that once felt like science fiction. So no, we’re not losing sleep over the latest minor release. But we are wide awake building the future with it. 🚀 Curious to hear—what was your experience like this year?
