PLEASE SUPPORT REBECCA’s GOFUNDME TO STUDY SPACE THIS SUMMER (& here’s why) Rebecca Carragher sent me a LinkedIn request last year, offering her help in content creation. I ignored her for a while, & then when we eventually made contact I was cautious- cos who reaches out, offering help for free? There’s always a catch, right? Well it turns out, there was no catch and Rebecca has been supporting me for almost a year now. And she’s been just fantastic. WHY I MADE THIS VIDEO But what makes Rebecca really special is that she cares deeply about people and our planet. She is my intern and does fantastic work. She doesn’t talk about it, but the more we’ve been working together, the more I learn about all the work she does for others, asks for nothing in return and is very slow to ask for help. LETS SUPPORT THE GIVERS IN OUR COMMUNITY Which is why I have made this video to ask you to donate to her GoFundMe page to raise funds for her to study space this summer for 8 weeks in South Korea with the International Space University on their eight week intensive space studies programme (of which I am global faculty) Watch the video and see how much she gives to her community, she’s a very special young lady and it’s time she got a little of that community generosity back. LETS GET REBECCA TO SPACE STUDIES PROGRAMME You see, we realise that we’re both built very similarly and once I told her about the wider societal importance of space, Rebecca was hooked! She’s already volunteering for two other space start ups, so gives so much to everyone else, I think it’s time that we gave a little something back to Rebecca. WHAT CAN YOU DO TO SUPPORT REBECCA So to my space community out there, and artists and communicators, if you have anything to spare, would you be so kind as to donate to her crowdfund @gofundme page? PLEASE DONATE 💰 https://lnkd.in/eJuWgQS9 🧑💻link also in my bio Rebecca will be a terrific addition to this summers Space Studies Programme & I can’t wait to see how the 8-week immersed in all things space will influence her work in the future. Rebecca is one of the good ones. And she needs our help. I know you’ll do the right thing. Together we can do incredible things! #dreambig #isu #ssp25 #artscience #spaceinsociety #womeninaerospace

ARTICLE IN TODAYS IRISH TIMES ABOUT IRISH SCIENTIST Dr. AIDAN COWLEY & HIS PASSION PROJECT, LUNA I went to the European Space Agency - ESA Astronaut Centre last February to check out their new lunar analogue facility, called LUNA. Irish scientist & DCU graduate Dr. Aidan Cowley spent 10 years making this happen. I wrote about LUNA and Aidans commitment to this project in today’s The Irish Times. I think it’s a great story & I hope you enjoy it. I’m lucky in my career to meet people like Aidan and share his story to inspire us all to follow our passions. Thank you Aidan, Lorraine, & everyone at the Astronaut Centre for all your support in making this story happen. More space stories next month. WANT TO KNOW MORE?
