Movement health is misunderstood. Affecting athletes and office workers alike, musculoskeletal (MSK) dysfunction impacts half of Americans, driving $420B in healthcare costs. Yet, approaches to exercise, injury prevention, and rehab have remained stagnant. Bridging mental and physical aspects of MSK function, an integrative movement health model could change how we think about exercise, recovery, and well-being for good. Explore the future of movement health in the latest Fitt Insider report 👇

Not the scoreline we wanted on the field on Saturday, but still a big result for KineMo to be featured in the match day program alongside some of Ireland’s most exciting Sports Tech startups! 🇮🇪⚡ A few months ago, KineMo was selected to be part of the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) and Enterprise Ireland Innovation Partnership, and we’ve already seen incredible results and feedback. Huge thanks to Scott Walker OLY, Caithríona Y., Kate Binchy, Joseph Shaw, Keith Brock, Eoin Power, Aoife Healy, and the entire team at IRFU and Enterprise Ireland for their continued support. This program is a fantastic opportunity for Irish Sports Tech startups, providing an elite environment to test, pilot, and refine our platforms. If your organisation is interested in accurately tracking and quantifying movement competency at scale—whether for sports, performance, occupational athletes, or indeed individuals and groups in general health & wellness, drop us a message at KineMo, we would be delighted to chat. #SportsTech #Innovation #IrishRugby #KineMo #PerformanceTracking #HealthTech #Startups #EnterpriseIreland

⭐ International Women's Day ⭐ At KineMo, we are incredibly fortunate to have such a talented, multi-disciplinary team pushing our business forward every day. On International Women’s Day we would like to give a special shout out to these two amazing team members: 👉 Clara Mercadal Baudart, our co-founder and technical lead. The work Clara has done in developing our underlying technology is simply phenomenal! 👉 Giang Nguyen (Celine) Biomechanical Engineer. Celine’s impact on onboarding, training, and supporting our growing customer base has been amazing! We would love to also give a special mention and thank you to our advisory board member Lara Coyne whose expertise in sports physiotherapy and injury biomechanics is pivotal to so many of the decisions we make. And of course we cannot forget Molly Boyne and Mia Brzakovic whose support was invaluable in shaping KineMo from a research project at Trinity College Dublin into the startup we are today. Thank you all! #InternationalWomensDay

Professor Ciaran Simms, a leading expert in biomechanics at Trinity College Dublin’s School of Engineering, joined the AI Awards Ireland Podcast to discuss how AI-driven movement analysis is revolutionising sports science and healthcare.    Through years of research into injury biomechanics, Ciaran has explored the impact of equipment design and collision dynamics in both sports and road safety. His collaboration with Leinster Rugby and lead physiotherapist Garreth Farrell initially focused on head injury assessments in rugby through video analysis and biomechanical modelling.    In collaboration with the team at Trinity College Dublin, this work evolved further and led to the creation of KineMo.   KineMo is an AI-powered company applying human pose estimation to provide accurate, data-driven insights into athlete movement. The team has developed innovative technology that’s now being trialled with governing bodies and clubs across rugby, soccer, cricket, GAA and rowing. It is also being applied in public health settings and in research projects by universities. In the episode, Ciarán discusses how AI-based tracking helps coaches and physios assess athletes' movements, how AI tracks and quantifies movement differences for injury assessment and recovery, helping athletes track improvement and mental well-being, and much more. 🎧Watch/Listen to the full episode now 👉https://lnkd.in/e9fpHBU5 #aiireland #artificialintelligence #sports #athletemovement #fitness #podcasts Leo Peyton Trinity College Dublin

  • Happy 2025 everyone! 🎉 Thank you for sharing Garreth Farrell and thank you also to Leinster Rugby, Will Connors and Lara Coyne for your input to this video. We are very lucky at KineMo to be working with experts at this level like Garreth. Expert opinion has guided the development of our platform from the outset to ensure we are delivering accuracy and detail in our metrics and outputs of real value for coaches, physios, athletes and individuals. We have several exciting announcements to come in the next few weeks after a very busy first 9 months, exciting times, stay tuned. 🚀 🤔

Kinemo is a recently developed, research backed software that allows the tracking and quantification of an athlete’s whole body movement in 3D during exercise using video from a single mobile device. It does not require sensors, wearables or multiple cameras. It is easy to use in the sports or clinical settling. Do we really need a new piece of tech in a crowded technology market place in sport? To answer this it boils down to what questions we are trying to answer. Kinemo was set up to provide some quantitative metrics on athlete movement. Professional sport is all about performance and being able to measure strength and power outputs has become a cornerstone in athlete development. Strength and power objectivity helps support conversations, planning and enables a goal orientated focus for athletes, coaches and medical staff, however, the output is only part of the answer. It doesn’t inform us as to how the athlete moved to achieve that metric. It fails to shown the movement competency or strategy used and whether that strategy is optimal for performance and injury mitigation. Kinemo can objectify what was previously a very subjective space, relying on coaches eye in the majority of cases to determine this. We now have the technology to better understand movement competency and thus better inform the outcome of our movement literacy programs. I would currently see huge utility in three key areas, Long Term Athlete Development, optimizing the return from injury to performance and thirdly optimizing performance in fit athletes by giving them objective feedback on their movement strategies. Crucially Kinemo is research supported and validated against Vicon which is largely seen by many as one of the industry gold standards in lab based movement assessment. So do we need another piece of sports tech….In the world of performance if you are serious about being objective in your measurement of athlete movement and optimizing their athletic ability; I think this is a crucial part of the equation. In my view Kinematic evaluation will be the next new horizon in performance and rehabilitation. https://lnkd.in/e5ezNfm3 Leo Peyton Ciaran Simms KineMo

Here is a clip of monitoring from 2017 with the Arsenal U18's from my presentation at the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) conference in 2018. Technology has advanced but principles and benefits stay the same. 7 years later 1 in Premier league, 1 in Ligue 1, 2 in Championship, 1 in Bundesliga 2, 1 in league 2, 1 N. Ireland Football League, 1 League of Ireland and 1 without club. All had a career in Football. Including one Irish International. Good Academies work. Its very important to monitor readiness to train if you have the capacity and more important to act on the information gathered.
