♻️ Introducing R3WIND: Pioneering Sustainable Wind Energy Solutions ♻️ We’re excited to unveil the R3WIND project, a groundbreaking project led by ÉireComposites in collaboration with University of Galway, University of Galway - College of Science and Engineering supported by Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). As the wind energy sector continues to grow, so does the need for more sustainable solutions. R3WIND is tackling this challenge head-on by developing turbine blades that are repairable, recyclable, and re-usable—helping to reduce waste and extend the lifespan of critical renewable energy infrastructure. 🌊 TidalHealth: Advancing Smart Monitoring for Tidal Energy 🌊 ÉireComposites, University of Galway, and ORPC are pushing the boundaries of real-time structural health monitoring for tidal turbine foils. By integrating 3D-printed fibre optic sensors into ORPC’s turbine foils, TidalHealth will enable continuous monitoring and real-time damage detection, ensuring greater reliability and performance in marine energy applications. Funded by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), this project will drive the next generation of sustainable tidal energy solutions. I would like to invite all who may be interested to the workshop "From Research to Market: Funding and Supports for Business Innovation" that my colleague Ann-Marie Colbert and I have organised as part of the 2025 Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) Energy Show which returns to the RDS next week, March 26th and 27th. This session will help companies uncover a range of funding, commercialisation supports and possible tax incentives that are available to help businesses de-risk their R&D and innovation activities. During the workshop, we will explore national and EU funding opportunities, national supports, and R&D tax credits to help equip companies with the knowledge to maximise investment in innovation. Our speakers include: Chloe Kinsella - Cenergise Marion Jammet- Irish Green Building Council Tomás Flanagan- ÉireComposites Teo who will discuss their organisation experience of engaging with national SEAI and/or EU funding to carry out R&D activities.
