  • It's great to see the new Platform 6 open at Kent Station, one of the first pieces in the major investment programme in the Cork Area Commuter Rail system. Egis is proud to play our part in the wider programme, delivering the signalling, electrical and telecommunications systems to facilitate the capacity and frequency increase planned. The end goal of trains operating on 10 minute intervals will be a game changer for commuters from Middleton, Cobh and Mallow.

  • [Appointment] We’re delighted to share @John Dooley 's appointment to the role of Commercial Director for Egis in Ireland, working across our engineering services and clients. • [Life at Egis] Induction day! Last week saw the first #EgisArrival of 2025 when we welcomed new starters from across several of our business lines and operations, from the first months of this year. 🤗 Mary Doyle opened proceedings with our patented ‘walnut challenge 🌰’– our answer to speed intros, and a welcome from Andrew Doyle Director of Transportation, before settling into some presentations and discussions around the group’s history and structure in Ireland, and more importantly our future. Colleagues Amanda Nevin and Bryan Harrington presented an insight into career advancement opportunities in Egis, and a deep dive into one of our flagship projects – Ringsend WasteWater Treatment Plant. The group finished up with a tour of the impressive Motorway Traffic Control Centre, from colleague @Marc Quinn. Welcome aboard everyone – it’s really good to have you!👏

  • The Egis team enjoyed an evening of connection with clients and colleagues, celebrating excellence in engineering at the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI) annual awards ceremony in Dublin’s Intercontinental Hotel last week. ✨ We’ve been very proud to support our colleague Anne-Marie Conibear all year in her role as President, culminating in this year’s Engineering Excellence Awards and AGM when she will hand over to incoming President Tim Murnane. We were proud to support the production of the comprehensive ACEI Annual Directory, which features Egis projects in Ireland and globally. The iconic Ringsend WasteWater Treatment Plant, where we were designers for its multi-project upgrade, graces the front cover. https://lnkd.in/dG368yaw The ACEI carries out an important role for the engineering sector. It advocates on its members' behalf, promoting fair and progressive practices, it supports equity and diversity in the sector and encourages interest in engineering among students from school onwards. ACEI also supports the government in the challenges we face in delivering sustainable infrastructure and buildings to enable our country’s continued growth. Engineers are in an important position to support the delivery of the National Development Plans and Ireland’s longer-term Project 2040 vision, and organisations like ACEI are their unified voice. Egis has been proud to support the work of ACEI this year – and bravo Anne-Marie for blazing a trail as ACEI’s first female President in its 80-year history!

  • We’re at the #NationalConstructionSummit today at the SportIreland campus, a great opportunity to update on innovation and developments in the sector. It’s good to see Planning and Stakeholder engagement in delivery of critical infrastructure up front in the agenda with an expert panel including Uisce Eireann’s Olwyn James , Louise O'Leary from McClutcheon Halley Plannjng Consultants and McCann Fitzgerald’s Brendan Slattery 4 key takeaways included: ➡️The need for political champions to advance critical projects ➡️The value in identifying key community groups and players and engaging early and often ➡️The addressing the more complex and the more controversial the project the earlier the engagement ➡️And how stakeholder consultation yields insight which is invaluable to allow designs to be tweaked. After all no one knows an area like its community. We were delighted then to catch up with iProperty Radio on site to talk about our key projects and perspective on helping deliver Ireland’s critical infrastructure. https://lnkd.in/gEpuz2HV

  • [Egis in Operations] Our Operations and Maintenance team joined 250 global colleagues, managers and specialists from 30 counties for the Egis O&M Signature Club this week. This key event brings our teams together to share insights and experience, reinforce collaboration to help shape the future of mobility. Topics covered included ➡️ The transformative role of tech in forging the path forward for asset management. ➡️The evolution of AI from its roots in DeepBlue to the computing power behind the R1 Manus robotic hand ➡️The decarbonisation roadmap for operations including for aviation. With a network which includes 20 airports, 29 road operating companies, mobility services, and a public transport network Egis' combined expertise puts us in a pivotal position to solve the pressing challenges which face us as an industry: decarbonisation, resilience of infrastructure and the value of assets, and using AI to transform mobility. These are systemic issues, and gatherings like this allow us to strengthen our network and collaborative connections to address them.

  • Setting new standards in sustainability through design, social inclusion planning and network integration, the 4km x 4 stop extension of the Luas from Broombridge to Finglas represents a major step forward for transport planning for our capital. Egis' preliminary designs, now at statutory planning stage, reflect our eco design approach and application of Transport Infrastructure Ireland circular economy principles. 🛤️Track Selection - embedded tracks have been replaced with a new vignole grass track with a reduced footprint and >50% reduction in structural concrete 🧑🤝🧑Social Impact - Luas Finglas is designed to promote greater accessibility and social inclusion, catering to mobility and visual impairments and driving balanced gender use of public transport 🚧Sustainability in Construction - an emphasis on lower carbon materials, regeneration of natural systems, nature-based drainage solutions and effective reuse of site-won materials. 🚆Integrated Transport Planning - improved integration with other modes of public transport, creating a seamless connection from the north-west boundary of the city to the existing rail line and Luas lines. - Check out the case study herehttps://lnkd.in/eiYv4h-b
