For almost 30 years, Cork Airport has hosted the annual exhibition of artwork from Cork Mental Health Foundation. The "Reflecting Through Art" project aims to encourage the promotion of wellbeing through expression of creativity and is open to anyone who has experienced a mental health difficulty. 🎨 🖼️ In continuing that tradition, we were pleased to host the launch of the 2025 "Reflecting Through Art" exhibition by Deputy Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Honore Kamegni. Thank you to Brendan McCarthy, Elaine Manley and all the team from Cork Mental Health Foundation for their coordination of this excellent exhibition - and most importantly, well done to each and every one of the artists who have produced such wonderful pieces of art! The art will be on display at Cork Airport for the month of April and more information on the exhibition can be found at https://lnkd.in/eaTuuNuq #ReflectingThroughArt #Community daa | daa International | ACI EUROPE | Fáilte Ireland | Niall MacCarthy | Kenny Jacobs | Cork City Council - Comhairle Cathrach Chorcaí | Irish Tourism Industry Confederation - ITIC | Cork Chamber |

Today, on World Autism Awareness Day, we're proud to shine a light on the steps we've taken to create a more inclusive and comfortable environment for all our passengers, especially those with autism and other hidden disabilities. At Cork Airport, providing support to those with autism guides our staff in ensuring a smooth and positive experience for everyone. 🌻 With the sunflower lanyard, passengers with hidden disabilities can avail of this discreet identification scheme which provides them with the opportunity to avail of additional support from airport, airline and ground handling staff. Cork Airport was the first airport in Ireland to introduce the use of the sunflower lanyard. It is now recognisable in over 300 airports and with 18 airlines across the world. 🔕 Our dedicated sensory pod, located in Departures, offers an oasis of calm for passengers seeking to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy airport and to spend time in a quiet, relaxing environment before their flight. Our sensory pod can be reserved by contacting OCS Ireland, our passenger mobility services provider, at the email below. 📖 For our younger passengers, copies of "Sammy/Susie Goes On An Aeroplane" are available free-of-charge from OCS. These books are a light-hearted and enjoyable read, written to allay any concerns younger passengers may have with flying and to make sure that the airport experience is an happy and comfortable one. ℹ️ The team from OCS Ireland, our passenger mobility services provider, are always on hand to assist passengers with hidden disabilities. "Sé mo laoch, mo Ghile Mear" It's not everyday that our passengers are treated to an impromptu concert, but today was different. The wonderful members of UCC Choral Society, who were flying to Prague via Amsterdam with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, burst into song at the boarding gate, treating passengers, staff and airline crews to a beautiful rendition of "Mo Ghile Mear". "Mo Ghile Mear", an 18th century poem originally attributed to Seán Clárach Mac Dómhnaill, and said to be written about Bonnie Prince Charlie, is one of Ireland's best known laments. The song has strong Cork links through its association with Cóir Chúil Aodha, the Ó'Riada family and Dónal Ó Liatháin. We're very proud to support UCC Choral Society through the Cork Airport Community Fund and we look forward to welcoming them back later this year for more performances. #LoveTakingOff daa | daa International | ARI | Niall MacCarthy | Kenny Jacobs | ACI Europe News & Events | Fáilte Ireland | Tourism Ireland | Irish Tourism Industry Confederation - ITIC | Cork Chamber | Cork City Council - Comhairle Cathrach Chorcaí | Cork Business Association (CBA)
