Recognising and rewarding the very best of Irish food & drinks Building a network & developing supports for producers
About us
These Irish Food Awards celebrate and reward the very best tasting Irish food and drink products, and the passionate, driven producers who make it. All Irish companies, North and South, are invited to submit products that are commercially available to the public in three outlets. This is the biggest blind tasting of produce in the country, and the criteria on which the product is judged as well as the judging system itself was created by the Food Sciences Department of UCC. The Blas na hÉireann Awards is a non-for profit organisation, and was created so that quality benchmarks could be established for Irish produce on a level playing field. All products entered must be submitted by the producer. Winning at the Blas Awards has made significant business differences to our winners. They are our best ambassadors. Visit www.irishfoodawards.com to see what they have to say.

How’s this for a dream team line up of people supporting Irish food and drink producers? These are just some of our past Producers' Champions. Once again we are looking for your opinion on the person or people you feel are doing the most to promote and support Irish food for our ‘Producers’ Champion Award’ Since 2014, a champion of Irish food has been voted for by producers and past winners include Neven Maguire, John & Sally McKenna, Shane McArdle, Jess Murphy, Darina Allen, Rory O'Connell, Rachel Allen, Brian McDermott, Johnny McDowell & Laura Bradley from Indie Fude, Kate Ryan and most recently Conor Spacey. This year we are asking you to let us know who you think should be recognised. You can name anyone (person or people) who is working hard on behalf of Irish food, particularly on the ground supporting producers locally. We know from talking to producers it is the shopkeepers, restaurants and vintners who are stocking Irish producers on their shelves, menus and bars who can make a real difference to your business. It can also be the unsung heroes of the food industry, members of your local community or an inspirational chef. We want to know who is important to food producers across the country and why.
