🌟 𝗪𝗲𝗟𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽: 𝗔 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮 🌟 From 8th to 10th April, the #WeLENS project consortium came together in Orvieto, Italy for a three-day workshop filled with insightful presentations, testimonies, and interactive activities. 💡 The workshop theme pertained to the Psychological & Neurobiological Perspectives embedded in Trauma and their broader intricacies and implications. The presentations delved into the functionality of a healthy brain, the impact of stress, and the physiological changes that occur after traumatic events. #PTSD and #cPTSD symptoms and criteria were analysed, alongside comparisons between traumatic and ‘normal’ memory. To that end, therapeutic approaches and self-regulation techniques were discussed comprehensively. 💬 Discussions centred around the impact specifically of #Human_Trafficking, its devastating effects on victims, methodologies for assessment, and the significance of detailed reports in judicial proceedings. #GenderLaw and #HumanRights were analysed in different contexts (international and domestic law, case-studies, etc.) 🏘️ Further, the project partners visited the #Lahuen community in Orvieto, further enriching their understanding through real-world connections made with the social workers, psychologists, and residents. The Lahuen community is one of the pioneering initiatives in Italy, which applies a community-based approach to the treatment of psychological pathologies and deviant behaviours, including alcoholism and drug addiction. This visit offered a powerful example of how holistic care models can be effectively implemented in practice. 👏🏼 These three days have been an enriching experience for everyone involved, flawlessly organised by the WeLENS consortium. 👩🏼💻 You may find more information about the WELENS project here: https://lnkd.in/eQPndAJN https://lnkd.in/e2E95-Zx #WeLens #TraumaWorkshop #HumanRights #GenderLaw #MentalHealth #CommunityImpact #InternationalCooperation #HumanTrafficking

Center for Security Studies (KEMEA), along with the EITHOS EU Project partners gathered in Palermo, Sicily, during three days (18-20 March, 2025) at Engineering Group's offices, in order to monitor, evaluate, and validate cutting-edge tech tools for law enforcement agencies (LEAs). Our focus is on advancing deepfake detection for audio, video, and images to combat online identity theft. Exciting progress in empowering LEAs with innovative solutions! We've been able to hear everyone's advancements on this project for developing a European Identity Theft Observatory, in the framework of European Commission's Horizon program. All partners of this project are working hard in their fieldwork, from researchers to engineers, to allow European citizens being aware and protected from OIDT (Online Identity Theft) various risks and threats. LEAs of the project had the opportunity to share their feedback on the tools that improve their investigation. In addition, an invited LEA from the Italian Police received also a presentation and a demo on the solutions. Big thanks to Engineering Group's warm welcoming in Palermo!
