🌱 Signataire de la Charte de l’Ingénierie pour le Climat de Syntec-Ingénierie depuis 2020, SEURECA renouvelle son engagement avec l’intégration des enjeux liées à la biodiversité. ♻️ This year’s upcoming International Zero Waste Day highlights the urgent need to reduce waste in the fashion and textile industry, a sector with a significant environmental footprint. However, the challenges of textile waste extend beyond fashion, affecting industries like pharmaceuticals, where single-use gowns and cloths generate substantial waste. At SEURECA, we are committed to addressing these challenges. Through detailed waste audits and industrial process analysis, we identify opportunities to minimise waste and promote reuse. One effective solution we recommend is industrial laundering. This allows protective textiles to be safely cleaned and reused, while using water loops to ensure minimal water consumption and reduce environmental impact. Our expertise spans across various sectors, where we apply strategies to achieve meaningful results. This includes: ▪️Comprehensive waste mapping and audits at production sites around the world, to identify waste sources and opportunities for reduction; ▪️Tailored waste reduction strategies that ensure materials are either eliminated at the source, reused internally, or repurposed through external partnerships. For example, expired disinfectants from pharmaceutical sites, while no longer suitable for their original use, can be safely redirected to industries such as automotive, using it as a cleaning product instead of being discarded. 💧 In anticipation of the World Water Day, SEURECA Veolia reaffirms its threefold mandate: 🔹To preserve water resources through water management plans & sanitation projects, non conventional water resources projects or through Non Revenue Water reduction projects, 🔹To improve access to water and basic services to populations while improving overall level of services, either through Master Plans, feasibility studies or design & work supervision - the PAEPYS project is a perfect illustration, 🔹To support water and wastewater utilities by providing strategic and operational assistance to operators for reaching technical, economic and financial as well as environmental performance optimums. And as a concrete example, we reflect on the importance of conserving and efficiently managing water resources. We are proud to share the success of the SEURECA / RAZEL-BEC / Veolia Afrique consortium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. 🇹🇿 After 34 months of close collaboration with the Dar es Salam Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (DAWASA), we have achieved significant results in reducing Non-Revenue Water in the Kinondoni operational area (305 km & 19,200 connections). 🎯 Through the implementation of 15 DMAs/PMAs for network zoning and pressure management, the deployment of digital tools for asset management / O&M / network performance monitoring, the replacement of over 8 km of distribution mains and 2,500 service connections, the detection and repair of 3,000 leaks, the clean-up and update of the commercial database, and the installation of 1,600 customer meters, we jointly have: 🔹 Reduced water losses by 47% across the entire operational perimeter, from a baseline value of 1,371 litres / connection / day to a final value of 724 litres / connection / day; 🔹 In total, throughout the duration of the project, saved over 2.2 million m³ of water, for a final reduction achievement of 8,100 m3/day (8.1 MLD); This project is a concrete case-study of our commitment to sustainable water solutions and operational excellence. 🌎 Mission en Équateur : avec le soutien de l’AFD - Agence Française de Développement, SEURECA accompagne le Canton de Loja et ses 250,000 habitants dans la gestion durable de ses déchets ♻️ Lancé en janvier 2025, aux côtés de notre partenaire PlanEHS, ce projet a pour objectif d’effectuer un état des lieux du service et des infrastructures de gestion municipale des déchets, pour ensuite étudier la faisabilité du futur Centre de Gestion Intégrée des Déchets Solides (CGIDS) du Canton de Loja, situé au sud de l’Equateur. Ce dernier prendra à terme le relais du centre d’enfouissement existant, ouvert en 1998 et saturé face aux 55,000 tonnes de déchets ménagers collectées et traitées chaque année. Avec un système de tri à la source et un secteur informel très dynamique et impliqué dans les activités de recyclage, le Canton de Loja souhaite améliorer progressivement le taux de récupération et de valorisation des déchets solides, dans une démarche d’économie circulaire, territoriale et inclusive. L’étude de faisabilité réalisée par SEURECA comprend une Étude d'Impact et un Plan de Gestion Environnementale et Sociale ainsi qu’un Plan de Réinstallation et de Restauration des Moyens de Subsistance préparé par PlanEHS. Ces études devront permettre la mise en place d’un prêt auprès de la municipalité pour la réalisation des nouvelles infrastructures. SEURECA et PlanEHS remercient chaleureusement la municipalité de Loja et l’agence de l’AFD en Equateur pour l’accueil et la qualité des échanges lors de la mission de lancement menée en février 2025, qui a notamment permis de démarrer les activités de terrain sur le site prévu pour le futur CGIDS. Après avoir travaillé de nombreuses années avec plusieurs communes de ce territoire, SEURECA est très heureux d'avoir accompagné la Communauté de Communes du Pays des Paillons (Alpes-Maritimes) dans la réalisation de ce projet stratégique pour les 11 communes de la CCPP. Cette étude a permis d'établir un état des lieux complet des systèmes d'eau potable et d'assainissement, sur la base des études existantes et des retours d'expériences (interne, services d'exploitation, élus et maires). La définition d'un programme de travaux a pu être proposé aux élus du territoire pour sécuriser un accès durable aux services essentiels, dans un contexte de raréfaction des ressources en eau de la région, accentué par le changement climatique.
