In 2023, clinicians, the Euretina Association, and stakeholders requested ECHA for a derogation on PFAS-based medical devices in ophthalmic surgery, as no viable alternatives exist for over 80% of vitreoretinal surgeries. Responses from industries are under review by ECHA. Addressing PFAS in ophthalmology requires a multidisciplinary approach. 🔬🤝 Moria Surgical has been committed to sustainability since 2018 🌱, offering the EU’s only sustainable multi-use packaging for ophthalmic gases, reducing PFAS waste 🌍.
