An Eden in Haven-1: last week, we had the honor to announce at 40th Space Symposium a partnership with Vast to integrate our plant research payload Eden 1.0 in the Haven-1 Lab. Eden 1.0 is a plant growth unit designed to conduct research on plants in a microgravity environment on a space station. A direct spin-off from our food production systems NuCLEUS, which won the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Deep Space Food Challenge. We are scheduled to launch aboard Haven-1 for 4 missions starting May 2026. Our goal is to provide new plant growth capabilities in space to conduct research and measure how biological life responds to low gravity environments. We’re excited to announce that Interstellar Lab will be speaking at the Space Food Design Challenge Opening Symposium on Monday, December 2 | 5:00–7:00 PM CST! The Space Food Design Challenge, a new program by the Institute of Competition Sciences, will engage high school and undergraduate students to develop future technologies that could one day support the next generation of orbital space stations or lunar bases. The Opening Symposium will bring together global experts to explore the current and future state of food in space. Interstellar Lab’s Bloom prototype made a memorable debut at the XPRIZE #Visioneering 2024 in California where we presented Mission Little Prince! Bloom arrived in style onboard Astrolab ‘s FLEX rover, driven by Astrolab CEO Jaret Matthews and astronaut Dr. Sian “Leo” Proctor, Ph.D. We also had the honor of introducing Mission Little Prince to Neil deGrasse Tyson.
