Foley Hoag is proud to have signed an amicus brief supporting Perkins Coie in its claims against the federal government arising out of the Executive Order directed at that law firm. We made this decision even though only fourteen (14) AmLaw 200 firms signed onto the brief. We concluded that this was the right thing to do for Foley Hoag, even if we were one of a small number of the country’s largest firms that participated. By joining the amicus brief, we are not only supporting our colleagues at Perkins Coie (and, by extension, other firms targeted by similar Executive Orders), but also advancing the values and principles that guide our own practice and service to our clients. #amicusbrief

What a week in Paris! As part of Paris Arbitration Week last weel, we hosted an event with Foley Hoag Paris, bringing together leaders from the field of international arbitration to discuss all the latest changes from the past year. In the first session, Diana Paraguacuto-Maheo, Adam Safwat, Paul Charlot, Olivier Dorgans and Jean Baptiste Harelimana of the ACADEMIE AFRICAINE DE PRATIQUE DU DROIT INTERNATIONAL discussed all the latest turmoil surrounding corruption enforcement and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. In the second session, Jago Chanter, Anne-Fleur Dory, Daniel Schimmel and Tafadzwa Pasipanodya discussed how the developments in corruption policy may impact how corruption enforcement is handled in international arbitration proceedings. Our memorable day under the Eiffel Tower ended with a networking reception to build and strengthen lasting connections. We're already looking forward to next year!

What does the latest tariff uncertainty tell us about how the Trump administration views international trade policy? And what do businesses need to know? 🌐 In a recent Interfor International webinar, Shrutih Tewarie Chemburkar discussed how the administration's use of tariffs and other trade enforcement measures has complicated the current business environment.
