On Wednesday, April 2, employees around the world rolled up their sleeves to participate in Fanatics’ fourth annual Global Volunteer Day. The impact on our local communities was truly incredible – more than 4,000 employees volunteered across 200+ projects in 15+ countries. Volunteers helped prepare meals, cleaned up community centers and parks, tutored local students, supported animal shelters, sorted sports equipment and clothing for kids in under resourced communities, and more. In total, Fanatics employees contributed 15,000+ hours of service to positively impact more than six million people worldwide. A big thank you to the employees who participated, to everyone who nominated a volunteer project, the site leads for their dedication and time to making sure each project ran smoothly, and the Fanatics Philanthropy and Community Engagement team for their coordination and planning of this incredible day. Yesterday, our Global Black Alliance FAN group hosted a “Celebrating Black Collectors” conversation with sports analyst, National Basketball Association (NBA) legend, and philanthropist Jalen Rose and Charlotte Hornets Forward and avid collector Grant Williams. From deep conversations on the significance of Black athletes and creators in shaping the industry to their shared passion for preserving history, the energy in the room was unmatched. Thank you to Jalen and Grant for lending their voices to this important discussion honoring Black culture, storytelling, and the power of ownership in the collecting space. As the official sports partner of Make-A-Wish America, Fanatics teamed up with the wish-granting organization and the National Basketball Association (NBA) to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience for seven kids having their wishes granted to attend the 74th NBA All-Star Game in San Francisco last weekend. Fanatics enhanced the wish weekend with a private shopping experience at the Chase Center Warriors Store, where the group was welcomed by Fanatics Commerce CEO Andrew Low Ah Kee, and surprised with $250 to shop for exclusive All-Star Game merchandise! The group had special access to All-Star Game weekend festivities thanks to the NBA, including All-Star Game practice, the NBA Legends Brunch, and of course, Sunday’s 74th NBA All-Star Game. #onefanatics #makeawish #nba
