  • The American Physical Society March Meeting 2025 was buzzing, and so was the interest around SemiQon's latest product launches, cryogenic CMOS and silicon spin-qubits. Both sparked lively discussions and highlighted their growing importance in advancing quantum technology.   Our very own Janne Lehtinen and Nikolai Yurttagül were right in the middle of it, representing SemiQon at our booth and leading insightful sessions that drew attention from both academia and industry.   Here's our key takeaways from the event: ↘️ Cryogenic CMOS is gaining momentum, with several expert talks underlining its scientific potential ↘️ Silicon spin-qubits are on the rise, and are increasingly seen as the most scalable path forward in quantum computing ↘️ The exhibition floor was alive with innovation. Startups and research groups alike showcased bold ideas, creating a space for collaboration, curiosity and inspiration.   #APS2025 #CryoCMOS #SiliconSpinQubits European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) Business Finland Photo by: Henrikki Makynen, Venimis

The future of quantum is shaped every single day in labs around the world. Our partnership with University of Jyväskylä is an example of how collaboration pushes forward research on silicon quantum computing.    “Sometimes we are prone to naïvely thinking that research is first done at universities and then it’s taken to companies to commercialize. But a lot can happen in that interface – as is happening here: both benefit when commercialization is taking place even when basic research still continues, says Professor Juha Muhonen.   As researchers ourselves, we know that progress often hinges on limited resources and access. At SemiQon, it is part of our mission to help pioneering researchers do their best work with the best devices out there.   Soon, our devices will become available to the broader research community - stay tuned to hear more.   Read the full reference story: https://lnkd.in/eHfY_6-B European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) & Business Finland 💫 #QuantumComputing #QuantumTechnology #quantum #semiconductors #innovation #SemiQon #MillionQubitEra

  • 🚀 SemiQon moves from Startup to Scaleup with EUR 17.5 M from the EIC SemiQon has secured a total of EUR 17.5M of funding in the form of EUR 2.5M of competitive, non-dilutive grant and additional EUR 15M of equity-based ear-marked funding. The European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) granted funding to SemiQon’s Cool-CHIPS project following a rigorous 3-stage evaluation process done in an unprecedented speed within the EIC Accelerator program. This new funding propels SemiQon’s growth through its cryogenic CMOS product-line. “The strong customer demand for the cryo-CMOS will allow us to diversify our business to domains with faster commercial traction than quantum computing. This funding helps us to take our cryo-CMOS product from current TRL6 (Technical readiness level) to TRL8 within the next two years as we initiate product testing with our customers at their product environment,” SemiQon CEO Himadri Majumdar explains. While SemiQon starts generating revenue through its cryogenic CMOS products in other markets, the company remains steadfast in its mission to build scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective quantum processors that will power the future of quantum computing.

  • 🎂 With so many new and exciting things in the works, SemiQon's second birthday went by without much fanfare last week. 🌟 But luckily it's not too late to take a moment and appreciate each other and the things we are capable of as a team 🙏

    CEO and co-founder, SemiQon

Someone once told me - you know you have the right people in your team when you realize you as the leader have very little left to do. Well, I dread the day when I won't find something to do but my amazing colleagues make my life easy by taking things off my plate. It has been such a privilege and pleasure to work with my SemiQon colleagues for the last 2 years. I just realized that we have passed our 2-year landmark rather quietly last week. We were 9 of us same time last year and are 14 now. We solve hard problems and face some new ones, every day. But I also find new appreciations for my colleagues, every day, as problem-solvers, resilient, grounded and polite individuals. I always believed that goodness attracts goodness. We have been living by our company core values for the last 2 years and have managed to build a culture that lives and breathes goodness. Yes, we go through range of emotions during an workday that has elements of frustration, anger, disappointment, and all the negative emotions. But we never let those take over our goodness. We stick to our values and the sources - external or otherwise, which give us the negative feelings soon realize that we are a different bunch of people altogether who tend to go high when others go low. And we intend to stay that way. As a personal mission, I want to prove those wrong who say good folks never win! Thank you for the 2 years my dear SemiQon-ians. 🥂 Here is to many more to come!! #joyatwork
