🇪🇪 Aalto Startup Center is on the move! Last week -almost- the whole team had a quick trip to Tallinn to learn all about the startup ecosystem in the neighboring country. We had a packed schedule for the day, so here is a quick rundown: 🌆 Our first stop was with Ülemiste City, the largest smart city in the Baltics home to 400 companies and 18,000 talents from over 70 countries. 🏹 At Tehnopol, we learned about their startup incubator and the NATO Diana Accelerator Program, designed to equip businesses with the skills and knowledge to navigate the world of deep tech, dual-use innovation. 💥 After that, it was time to meet Startup Wise Guys, the most experienced accelerator fund in the region with an international community of founders. 🏛️ To finish up we visited the Majandus- ja Kommunikatsiooniministeerium / Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications where we learned how they work with startups and exchanged ideas. Thank you to everyone who took the time to sit with us and ideate how to better assist the startups from our community. 🤭 Is it too late for a March recap? Hopefully not! April is here, but the previous month was so full of activities that we can not help going back and sharing some of the things we took part in. 💥 March 6th - Demo Day, our flagship event, took place. With over 700 registrations and +80 startups with a booth. 🌿 March 7th - Urban Tech Helsinki organized its monthly Networking Lunch gathering startups to discuss how to make cities more sustainable. 🦄 March 11th - Aalto Creatives kickoff event welcomed 14 new teams. Their projects touch on design, music, games, and everything in between. 💸 March 17th - The IPR & Funding Session for SMEs and Startups happened, to provide insights about these topics across Europe. 📲 March 27th - Ann (Zemenak) Sarimo gave another masterclass on communication and marketing to our startups and research projects. 🧑⚖️ March 31st - To finish up, we got our monthly pop-up lawyer session where startups come and ask everything law-related about their business. There is never a quiet time at Aalto Startup Center! What a great day at Aalto Startup Center! 🙌✨ I had the chance to run a packed #masterclass session on #marketing and #communications for a room full of sharp minds — from #Startups to #ResearchtoBusiness to #DigitalCreative teams.
