#IGARSS 2024 conference is about to start in Athens, Greece 🇬🇷 Our team at the CommSensLab at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya will present its activities in causality for forest fires extension analysis 🔥🌲, soil moisture estimation 💧, crops and forests monitoring 🛰☘️, #SAR #Polarimetry #PolSAR 🛰 and #ArtificialIntelligence for #EarthObservation 🤖🛰. These works have been posible thanks to Amir Mustafa, Marc Herrera Giménez, Alberto Alonso-González, Miriam Pablos Hernández, William Pinto, Gerard Portal, merce Vall-llossera Ferran and Adriano Camps and the collaborations with the Microwave Remote Sensing Lab (MRSLab) 🇮🇳, the Beijing University of Chemical Technology 🇨🇳, the Yunnan University 🇨🇳 and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) 🇩🇪. Ariane 6 update: our team recently traveled to Europe's Spaceport, the Guiana Space Center, to support integrations for ARIANESPACE's upcoming launch! 🇬🇫 Our revolutionary EXOpod Nova containerized deployer is set to deploy the 3Cat-4, ISTSat-1, CURIE, and GRBBeta satellites for government, commercial, and university partners from: European Space Agency - ESA, ESA Academy, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Spacemanic, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Košice. Dues missions del UPC NanoSat Lab, preparades per ser llançades a l’espai 1️⃣ Un grup d’estudiants vinculats al laboratori ha completat amb èxit a Berlín, a l'empresa Exolaunch, la integració definitiva del nanosatèl·lit 3Cat-4 al dispensador dins del qual viatjarà a l’espai en el primer vol de la llançadora europea Ariane 6. El nanosatèl·lit forma part del programa #FlyYourSatellite! de l'European Space Agency - ESA, que ofereix als estudiants universitaris l'oportunitat de dissenyar, construir i posar en òrbita els seus propis satèl·lits. L’objectiu de la missió és fer volar un instrument GNSS-R capaç de mesurar diversos fenòmens meteorològics, característiques geogràfiques i paràmetres oceànics, amb un triple objectiu: localitzar i monitorar vaixells per evitar accidents amb un sistema AIS, observar la Terra per monitorar el gel i la humitat del sol, i estudiar les interferències en la banda de la freqüència que s’utilitzarà. 2️⃣ Un altre equip del mateix laboratori va deixar llesta, el mes de març, la càrrega útil RITA/³Cat-6, que s’enlairarà dins del satèl·lit AlAinSat-1, del The National Space Science and Technology Center de la Universitat dels Emirats Àrabs Units. Aquesta missió té com a objectiu obtenir dades de salinitat del mar i humitat del terreny mitjançant radiometria de microones, així com mesures de l'estat de la vegetació amb una càmera hiperespectral. ➕ I un altre equip ha guanyat la 4a edició de l’ESA Fly your Satellite!, amb la missió PoCat-LEKTON, formada per dos PocketQubes destinats a mesurar interferències de ràdio-freqüència.
