𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐔𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭-𝐮𝐩𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐜! Kicking off on April 7, four innovative startups — Confidences, Sunwaves, Nodeus, and ExAdEx-Innov — from the Ulysseus Start-ups Health – Ageing & Well-being Programme are exploring the dynamic Canadian ecosystem. Throughout the week-long expedition, participants will have the opportunity to connect with local stakeholders, discover new market opportunities, and build partnerships with experts, investors, and institutions. The start-ups have been welcomed by Le Camp, an incubator and accelerator located in Quebec City, dedicated to supporting tech entrepreneurs and helping innovative companies grow. This learning expedition, led by the Ulysseus Innovation Hub Ageing & Well-being, based at Université Côte d'Azur, aims to accelerate cutting-edge solutions to promote healthier lives and ageing. Ulysseus European University is advancing its strategic commitment to multilingualism and intercultural competence. Representatives from all eight partner universities met this week at Universidad de Sevilla for a focused two-day workshop to refine the alliance’s Language Policy, set for publication in autumn 2025. The policy will be released in all alliance languages and English, underscoring Ulysseus’ dedication to linguistic diversity and inclusive education. Key elements include:   • Creating a multilingual academic environment   • Promoting balanced use of alliance languages and English   • Expanding access to language and culture learning   • Supporting multilingual joint study programmes The Ulysseus +2 Language Programme—one of the largest in the European University landscape—offers courses in 11 languages, including the world’s first online Montenegrin course. This policy reflects a “lingua-culture” approach, positioning language as a bridge to cultural understanding and resilience. Yesterday, the University of Montenegro hosted the Ulysseus International Networking Conference, bringing together academic leaders and experts from across Europe.     Organized within the framework of the European University Alliances initiative, the conference welcomed representatives from Ulysseus partner universities and other alliances such as ACE²-EU, Circle U. (European University Alliance), YUFE Alliance , ACROSS, UNINOVIS , SUNRISE Alliance, and EUPeace - European University. Taking part in the Erasmus+ funded CURATE project in the beautiful city of Košice hosted by the Technical University of Košice. 50+ students are here from Ulysseus European University partners Management Center Innsbruck University of Münster Université Côte d'Azur and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences . The goal? Engage students with real world business challenges using AI as a tool to develop solutions. Who? Bunch of motivated students being led by a group of mentors and coaches to develop new innovative solutions. Why? This is part of a bigger picture to develop a CURATE incubator programme as part of the Ulysseus Innovation ecosystem. 🔹 Showcasing European University Alliances at #EGM25 🔹 Last week, the Erasmus Generation Meeting in Ancona 🇮🇹 brought together an impressive number of representatives from European University Alliances (EUAs) — a clear sign of the growing importance of collaboration. 🌍 🎯 Throughout the event, alliances were a key focus, with dedicated sessions highlighting shared challenges, best practices, and future plans to strengthen the engagement of ESN and its local sections. It's inspiring to see how these synergies are shaping the future of higher education in Europe. Representatives from alliances are going home with fresh ideas, enriched by the point of view of students — the very generation driving positive change. 💬 The winner of the Erasmus Destination of the Year was Aarhus. During the first week of April, administrative and management staff from the Ulysseus European University Alliance are taking part in the 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 (𝗕𝗜𝗣) 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, hosted by Management Center Innsbruck in Austria. This initiative is designed to strengthen participants’ skills and knowledge to foster effective international cooperation in a multilingual and multicultural context. Through hands-on activities such as tackling real-world challenges, enhancing communication strategies, and promoting teamwork, participants are developing key intercultural competences. Following this in-person phase in Innsbruck, the virtual component of the programme will be held in May. We are proud to take part in this key event for the future of international education and mobility, engaging directly with students from across Europe.
